Rayden - Climax Final Feliz - Yellow Vinyl [VINYL LP] Colored Vinyl, Yellow, Spain - Import date 11/29/2024

Future Afro-Latin jazz house from master percussionist, multi-instrumentalist and composer Gabriele Poso. A true multi-instrumentalist, Gabriele Poso found a particular affinity for percussion at a young age, studying in Puerto Rico and Cuba. His latest album Batik, to be released on Soundway, is once again entirely self-produced and features guest vocalists Nailah Porter, Nina Rodriguez, Quetzal Guerrero, and Sofia Rollo. Following a long-term collaborative partnership with Osunlade/Yoruba Records, as well as albums on BBE and Agogo Records, Gabriele Poso has garnered acclaim from reviewers and selectors, including Gilles Peterson. On Batik, Poso further develops and matures his sound - exploring his extensive roots in Afro-Cuban percussion, while delving into the realms of jazz and soulful house. Much of the album features Poso on not only vocals but many of the instruments - including percussion, guitar, and kalimba. With mixing by renowned Spanish DJ and producer Kiko Navarro, the lead single InchAfrica LindaInch is an up-tempo live take on Latin house, featuring American-born soul singer Quetzal Guerrero on vocals. RIYL Osunlade, Joe Claussell, Kaidi Tatham, Kerri Chandler, Masters At Work, Ron Trent, Cotonete, Kiko Navarro, Atjazz.

Absurdity and punk rock go together like celery and tonic water. That is to say, they are two acquired tastes that are even better together, because they push out the squares and cater to the real freaks. That spirit has driven Chicago's Cel Ray from the very beginning. Springing to life with their debut EP Cellular Raymond in 2023, the Chicago four-piece of vocalist Maddie Daviss, guitarist Josh Rodin, bassist Kevin Goggin, and drummer Alex Watson charted a path through twitchy, absurdist post-punk that fell somewhere between The Minneapolis Uranium Club and The B-52s. Piss Park followed later that year, and aside from the InchRaw GodInch single in 2025, the band spent their time ripping club shows across the Midwest, playing in DIY spots, dive bars, and, one time, being hand-selected to open for Jack White. Now, after years of waiting for a proper full-length, Cel Ray has joined the illustrious noisenicks at Exploding In Sound to Cel Rayzer, a record that, as it's name subtly implies, is sharper and more acerbic than anything Cel Ray's done before. What makes Cel Rayzer so impactful is the inability to pin it down. Yes, it's garage punk; yes it's egg-punk; yes it's post-punk, but it's beholden to none of those things. This is what makes Cel Rayzer such a thrill; Just when you think you have the band figured out, they transform into something else so effortlessly, you're left wondering how they even pulled it off.

Yellow Vinyl. Enduringly credible, Magazine have always been the music connoisseur's choice; frequently name checked by some of the most gifted musicians of recent years including Radiohead, Morrissey, Jarvis Cocker, U2, Johnny Marr and MGMT. NME. Com went so far as to included Magazine in a poll as one of the most influential bands of all time. Created by frontman, Howard Devoto - who co-formed Buzzcocks with Pete Shelley - Magazine's sound focused on the double barrels of Dave Formula's swirling keyboards and John McGeoch's ahead-of-it's-time innovative guitar work, underpinned by Barry Adamson's pulsing yet deviously irregular basslines. Atop of this sat Howard Devoto's lyrics. Leading the vanguard of post-punk, their released four groundbreaking albums before disbanding. 1987's compilation, Rays & Hails, is repressed for the first time on colored vinyl, has a new configuration and sequence from previous iterations, and features unseen images and new notes from band members compiled and curated by Rory Sullivan-Burke.
