This Razer mini keyboard is very well made, lightweight, and extremely responsive. It's also noticeably quieter than other gaming keyboards I've owned. Despite its compact size, it's packed with premium features, including Hall Effect magnetic switches, an 8,000 Hz polling rate, and customizable RGB lighting that syncs through the Razer Chroma or Synapse app. Setup is as simple as plug-and-play. To access advanced settings, firmware updates, key assignments, key actuation, mapping, macros, you’ll need the Synapse app. For RGB’s customization, although you can use Synapse, it will give only the basics, for more advanced lighting customization the Razer Chroma app will be a better suit. If you already own other Razer peripherals like I do, it's easy to synchronize the lighting effects across all your devices. The keyboard feels incredibly responsive, and the keys produce a soft, satisfying sound that I personally enjoy. I mainly play fast-paced shooter games, and gameplay felt smooth and precise. What's surprising is that I also own several compact gaming keyboards, including the latest Corsair Mark Pro 7, which performs exceptionally well and is slightly larger and heavier. Even so, I found myself playing more comfortably and performing better with this smaller Razer keyboard. I'm not sure if it's just the size, but it felt more natural to use. I think the short travel distance between the keys also helps. I also do a lot of typing, and I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable this keyboard is for everyday use. Both my typing and gaming improved even more after adding a palm rest, although one is not included with the keyboard. This keyboard doesn't have dedicated media keys, but they're easily accessible through the Function key. The keycaps are removable for easy cleaning, although a keycap puller is not included. The RGB lighting is bright and vibrant, although I did notice that the white lighting has a slight bluish tint. Overall, if you're already invested in the Razer ecosystem or you’re looking for a compact keyboard with great gaming performance, easy to take on the go, this is an excellent choice. It's small enough to fit in a backpack without taking up much space, yet it performs like a full-size gaming keyboard. REVIEW The Razer Huntsman V3 HE (Hall Effect) Magnetic Mini 65% 8KHz is top notch quality. It has a very solid feeling (heavy) with an aluminum base, it stays put on your desk and does not move around when gaming and heavy use. The keys are slightly textured giving them a good balance of keypress stickiness, without slowing you down. The Core keys are well labeled and easy to find. They keys have a very quick return after being pressed, and the adjustable actuation and low latency make this keyboard ideal for gaming. The custom RGB lighting is great, and makes it easy for your map different colors to different buttons. So far I find the keyboard software easier to use (less fussy) than another brand name after a type of fast sailing pirate ship. I also found the presets for all of my main games already included in the software. SETUP Like most Razer devices the drivers are built into the device, so as soon as you connect it, it loads everything it needs to operate. As expected, it was instantly recognized by Windows 11. Then it gives you the option to load additional software to make the most use of the customization capabilities. Because you can also do most basic functions from Synapse Web you really don’t have to load software locally unless you want to partake of advanced features. There is a dual built-in kickstand, to give you multiple angles to raise the keyboard to your preference. USAGE I normally use a full-size keyboard for gaming, no particular reason, I just like a full size keyboard. However, the Razer Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic Mini 65% 8KHz feels very much like a full size keyboard, plus it takes up less room and is ideal for travel. The keys fell good when pressed, and not hallow sounding like some other models and brands. There are tons of advances features and programmability for every key and combination you can think of. (Snap Tap, Snap Flex, Rapid Trigger, Sensitivity, Dual Key Press Priority, and much more) This is the most advanced (programable) keyboard I have used. I look forward to fine tuning my settings for each game as time permits. RECOMMENDATION I do recommend the Razer Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic Mini 65% 8KHz, it is a great working keyboard, it feels great, and is very affordable, especially considering how advanced it is.

Initially it feels like plastic, but the top deck is brushed aluminum. In the box is the keyboard, removable USB cord, and a sheet with important shortcuts. With its overall size and removable cord this could make a great lan party or tournament keyboard, but Razer missed the opportunity to provide a travel case. Possibly because this might conflict with their dedicated portable keyboards. The keycaps are doubleshot PBT, which is good for durability of the finish, but has caused some backlight uniformity issues on past Razer keyboards I have owned. It seems with this model that has been improved and overall consistency is much better. The same cannot be said of the secondary function labels which are very hard to see since they have no backlight. While it is nice to see Razer finally build a keyboard with Hall Effect switches it does make you wonder why the change. They have been very vocal about the inconsistencies of hall effect switches and the superiority of optical switches. It would be interesting to see Razer’s reason for the change of heart, but it is nice to see the option. Setup and Performance Setup is straightforward with Synapse prompting for install if you have not already installed it. There are 5 built-in profiles that come preconfigured and you can customize from there. They are Default, FPS Rapid Trigger, Analog WASD, Racing, and High Sensitivity. By default, the main difference between the factory profiles is the Activation Point or in the case of Analog the WASD keys emulate a joystick. You can change modes via hotkeys and activation of each mode is confirmed with the flash of a corresponding color before returning to your settings in Chroma if you have them configured. Hypershift, Snap tap, Rapid Trigger, Snap Flex, and Dual-keypress support are supported but not activated by default. So far, this is probably the fastest responding keyboard I have ever tried. In fact, sometimes it makes me wonder if the keyboard has an issue or if it is pushing my skills to the limit. Out of the box, causal typing was harder than normal. The keycaps taper a bit more than I am used to causing some imprecise typing. Combine that with the hall effect sensors and near instant activation a brush of a neighboring key means a few unintended letters would show up in every word. After several days it has improved but activation point may need to be lowered further in normal mode. Of course, you want sensitivity in a gaming keyboard but even in gaming you want to avoid accidental presses. If you are new to hall effect switches get ready for an adjustment. Another thing to keep in mind is since the activation point is adjustable there is no distinct click once you hit it like on a Cherry Red. It feels linear and slightly clacky with very little wobble. However, traditional linear keys you typically still feel a subtle activation point which you don’t feel the Huntsman Mini. It is a tradeoff for flexibility and speed but if you are used to feeling that activation point your fingers might cramp and you might end up slamming the keys hard for a while before you acclimate like I did. As I have become more accustomed to the keyboard, I am preferring this keyboard for gaming even if my typing has suffered slightly. It’s hard to describe accurately but the hall effect switches feel smoother. I still have a long way to go in improving my response times but ability to reset on even the slightest lift the key has gradually made me care less about feeling a specific activation point which makes repeated key presses feel quicker and more natural. Finals Thoughts For some gamers, the hall effect sensors can feel a bit too sensitive and potentially inconsistent. It can also feel slightly less versatile than other options due to being finicky for regular typing. That said, if want a solid gaming first keyboard that is focused on maximum response times, sensitivity, and customizable action above all else then the Razer Huntsman V3 Mini HE could be a good fit.

Overall, this is an incredibly well built 65% keyboard. You do get a usbc cable in the box as well along with some literature but other than that it's just the keyboard. Geared towards gamers the 65% keyboard takes up very little space as does most 65% keyboards where this one stands out is the software and features (snaptap, rapid trigger, etc) which razer has always done a very good job with via Synapse. You can adjust every key’s actuation point (between .1mm to 4.0mm) to your liking, further increase the value this keyboard adds. Also, the switches themselves are nice sounding magnetic switches. Not too harsh at all. They do have a nice textured feel that allows for a bit of a grip so should your hands get sweaty; you won’t have any slippage. The 8000 Hertz polling rate, while some say maybe overkill for competitive players, is an edge over the competition that you could feel. I feel like the keyboard responds very well to each key stroke almost instantly, which is extremely helpful and rewarding during my gaming sessions.
