Red Camp - The New Clavichord - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

About this product
One early morning, way past midnight, Pianist Red Camp engaged himself in a one-person jam session... on a clavichord. The delicate, 14th century instrument is more likely to be associated with C.P.E. Bach than with the often atonal free improvisation heard here, but this is compelling music and musicianship.

The scene A late-nite party in Laredo, Texas; Plaza Hotel. The players foremost, legendary jazz pianist Red Camp, with sidekick trumpeter Dude Skiles; in the background, close friends of the musicians. The sound swinging blues, boogie-woogie, funky piano-dominated jazz; some accents with trumpet and vocals. Rehearsal none, impromptu take. Result addictive listening.
