No, the Ring Hardwired Kit for Spotlight Cam is a package of tools and parts that allows you to hardwire your Ring Spotlight Cam wired directly into an electrical box instead of a regular outlet for consistent power delivery. Ring floodlight cameras require a wifi connection. They do not have the option of power over Ethernet. If I use this kit and wire up to a switched 110 VAC house line will I be able to turn the flood lights on and off with the switch?
Answered by RingHi Robert. Thank you for your question! We don't recommend using a light switch if your Ring device is connected to it. When you remove power from the device for long periods of time it can lose connection to your home wifi. When the device is powered back on without a connection it will enter setup mode.
