No, the Ring Hardwired Kit for Spotlight Cam is a package of tools and parts that allows you to hardwire your Ring Spotlight Cam wired directly into an electrical box instead of a regular outlet for consistent power delivery. Ring floodlight cameras require a wifi connection. They do not have the option of power over Ethernet. A: Hi Robert. Thank you for your question! We don't recommend using a light switch if your Ring device is connected to it. When you remove power from the device for long periods of time it can lose connection to your home wifi. When the device is powered back on without a connection it will enter setup mode. In setup mode the lights will flash to show it's ready to be setup. If any additional information is needed regarding your Ring devices please reach out to our community.
