I purchased this monitor for my wife, who works from home full-time, and it has been a fantastic upgrade to her setup. The 49” ultrawide screen really improves the overall workflow and digital real estate of two monitors combined into one , which has made a big difference in her productivity. She’s able to comfortably keep multiple programs and data sets open side-by-side without feeling cramped. Having one screen also eliminates that gap which can be distracting and disruptive, and makes it easier to center the eye line. One of her favorite features is the curved display. It makes long workdays much easier on the eyes and seems to reduce strain compared to a flat screen of this size. The monitor also performs very smoothly. The scrolling is fluid and the responsiveness is excellent. We were pleasantly surprised by how well it handles glare. With proper positioning, there’s little to no reflection, which is a big plus in a bright room. It is definitely a large and somewhat heavy monitor, but the stand is sturdy and keeps everything secure. Overall, it feels very well-built and premium. It is well worth the price. Bottom line: If you work with multiple windows, spreadsheets, or data-heavy tasks, this monitor is a huge quality-of-life improvement

This item is perfect for gamers, I purchased for my 17 year old son. The only down part is that there aren’t any speakers on the monitor so you’ll have to purchase speakers separately. Otherwise the p pictures show perfect and it’s a decent size.

Phenomenal monitor and not for what it’s intended. I use it for my work as a web developer and it is a game changer for me personally. I have tried Minecraft on it and that was a pretty awesome experience. I am hoping I don’t get the flashing issue and dead pixels others have mentioned. I did get a refurbished one that was a total lemon. But I always get extended warranties for pricey tech

The Samsung 49" Odyssey G9 G91F has done well with everything I have thrown at it and looks good. The main requirement is to make sure you have the space for it. I did not use the stand, but it seemed sturdy and clipped into the back of the monitor with no issues. I used a desk mounted holder. The monitor uses VESA 100x100. It requires no special adapters, the area it connects to is flat. I was able to attached it to the mount arm with no issues. Main thing to remember besides space is that it is a heavy monitor at 23.4lbs without the stand. Make sure your mount, wall or desk, can support the weight. The box is 4 feet long, so you’ll need some room for removal. The screen is 49”, but with the curve it is physically only 47” wide. Setup is simple after mounting. You get 2x HDMI 2.1, 1x DisplayPort (DP) 1.4, a 3.5mm headphone jack, power connector, and USB-A and B ports (for upgrades and displaying pictures from a usb stick for instance). There are no speakers. I used a USB-C to DP, and both HDMI ports for various machines. By default, the monitor does not auto switch between devices, you’ll need to turn the function on in the menus. In the center bottom is a control pad to get through all of the options. Menu use and selection is standard and easy to navigate. If you want to do dual screen, you’ll have to select the option in the menu’s too. The display has VESA DisplayHDR 600, and 1000R curve. The panels are LED VA. Max frame rate is 144Hz. With a Resolution of 5120x1440, dual QHD, make sure you have something to push all of the data. I had some problems reaching full resolution at first, but the issue was my HDMI cable couldn’t do it. I got an 8K cable to be sure, and had no issues obtaining 5120x1440 at 144Hz. I used the USB-C to DP cable to run the monitor as a second screen. The iGPU on an AMD 79XX series had no problems running it with various comms programs and chats. I used it via HDMI to a Laptop with a 4080 and it pushed games to it with no issues. Using a regular 4090 also provided a great gaming experience. Modern games support the 5120x1440 natively. I tried the new Doom and it looked fantastic. In a lit room the colors are good and the monitor ran smooth from 60 to 144Hz. Put the screen an arms length away in the dark and it envelops you. Your side field of vision is completely taken up by the monitor immersing you in any game. Colors were vibrant and ran true to me. With the ability to run two inputs at once, you can play on two machines at once with someone else, or run multiple characters in one game. Overall the monitor should be able to meet all of your needs. For non gaming the monitor works fine. Multiple documents at once is not an issue. Having a movie or music on while working office programs is easy with all of the space the screen affords. The only thing missing is a USB-C display connection for this price point they should have one. This monitor is great, if you have the room and money it’s a worthwhile monitor for a variety of uses.

I’ve been wanting an ultra-wide curved monitor for gaming and productivity. I’m currently using two 32in monitors, which work well for dual screens but not as well for wide screen gaming or when I run different resolutions & frame rates between the two monitors. That’s why I decided to grab the Samsung 49” Odyssey G9 G91F 1000R Curved Gaming Monitor, as it provides two 1440p resolutions worth of screen space that run at 144Hz and can be used by more than one device at the same time! Pros: - Ultra-wide screen that’s fast and colorful. - Simple Software that only focuses on Gaming. - Split-screen options with multiple inputs. Cons: - Monitor is heavy at 23+lbs without stand, may need a new monitor arm to hold it. - No USB-C connection or KVM switch. Setup: A note to consider for Delivery of the Samsung 49” Odyssey G9 G91F, it comes in a huge, labeled box, literally this box was only a head shorter than my girlfriend. There is no real way to hide this box inside or outside, so make sure you either pick it up or are home when it’s delivered to avoid it walking away. To get this monitor out of the box safely, you will want 2 people and a plan to open it. I would recommend opening the box from both sides, then sliding out the Styrofoam packaging with the monitor in it instead of trying to lift it directly out of the box. This will let you position and attach the stand easier without the box being in the way. You will want to make sure to position the monitor so it is facing down inside the Styrofoam packaging, so you can access the back for attaching the stand or monitor arm mount. Don’t lay the monitor directly on the floor or table without the use of the Styrofoam packaging. This is a massive monitor, coming in at 49in diagonally and ~24lbs without the stand, ~35lbs with the stand. I initially attached the stand to see how it would look and feel on my desk without a monitor arm, but quickly realized I would want it mounted. You’ll want to double check your monitor arm weight limits along with making sure your desk is solid before attaching the G9. Like a lot of gamers, I’ve got an Ikea table I used for my main desk that is not solid, so I decided to be extra safe and attach the G9 to a secondary desk that was solid for now until I upgrade my tabletop to make sure I don’t destroy both the monitor and desk. So far, both are working perfectly after some adjustments to the lift arm and angle of the monitor. Specs: The Samsung 49” Odyssey G9 G91F provides a massive 49in screen with a 1000R curve, a true ultra-wide screen immersive experience. Samsung used a VA panel with a resolution of 5120 by 1440, two 1440p monitors, and 144Hz to provide a smooth and detailed picture. The monitor comes with an HDR 600 and HDR10+ Gaming rating, providing a good option for HDR if you have content to take advantage of it. This is supported by the 350cd/m2 brightness, 2500:1 contrast ratio, 1ms (GTG) response time, and 92% Colour Gamut (CIE1976). Viewing angles are also good coming in at 178 for both Horizontal and Vertical viewing. Ports & Split Screen: Samsung provided a good selection of ports on the G9; 2xHDMI V2.1, 1xDisplay Port V1.4, 1xUSB-B upstream port, 2xUSB-A downstream ports, and a headphone Jack. This covers connectivity for multiple devices, while also providing flexibility with USB supported devices. There are two features related to connectivity that are missing that I would have liked to see on the G9 monitor: USB-C with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, and a KVM switch. Though both features are specific use cases, I think it would have benefited the monitor though would also probably have increased the overall cost as well. The USB-C with display Port and Power Delivery would be a great benefit for Laptop Gamers or Productivity Users who mainly use a laptop instead of a desktop. The KVM switch would have been helpful for anyone who plans to use the G9 with multiple devices, as it would have let you switch your input devices while keeping the USB ports connected to your mouse and keyboard. These are the only things I think I would add to this monitor, to make it better. Software: I’ve got to give it to Samsung for listening to Gamers on the G9, going with a simplified software solution instead of the Tizen SmartTV software. THANK YOU! My biggest complaint about other Samsung monitor models was the use of the TV software, on a monitor. It just made adjusting settings a painful process that favored TV settings over PC Gaming settings. This is a huge improvement in my opinion. Navigation is done old school with the buttons on the bottom of the monitor, just 5 buttons: up, down, left, right, and center (enter). The Menu’s are very easy to navigate and find settings, with all the sections clearly label. It’s also very easy to read on the menu, so long as your background isn’t the same color as the menu. One of the great features of this Ultra-Wide screen is the PIP/PBP with the Auto Source Switch+. The Picture-in-Picture allows you to use two input devices and view one of the screens inside the other. Think of a mini map of the sub screen on top of the main screen, it’s great for Streamers who use 2 PC’s to stream, allowing you to see the 2nd screen layered onto the main one. Alternatively, you can do Picture-by-Picture which allows you to split the 5120 by 1440 resolution into 2 separate 2560 by 1440 resolution monitors. Similarly, this is great for Gamers who might use 2 side by side screens while gaming, Destiny 2 + DIM for example, but also for Productivity users who might need 2 separate systems either for work and play or just work on work. There’s a lot of flexibility with the PIP/PBP. Performance & Gaming: The Samsung G9 was made for Gamers, and it performs at the level you’d want as a gamer. The Ultra-Wide resolution looks amazing in games that can take advantage of the larger screen space, providing a fully immersive experience. I was able to fully expand my view in Destiny 2 with the expanded field of view settings all the way up to 105 without feeling the view was squished. The 144Hz refresh rate provided a smooth experience for FPS and fast action games. The higher resolution does have an impact on performance, which will vary by system and game. Color wise, the HDR600 & HDR10+ experience will depend on what you’re viewing in it, I was able to use HDR for Destiny 2 without any issues, but often found HDR in windows would mess up the image on the browser. This is Samsung issue, Microsoft is known for having issues with HDR so take it as a warning that your results may vary based on the specific game or application you use. I’d recommend checking out that game/app to see how it works best with HDR and what settings to adjust. For Destiny 2, I only had to tweak the in-game settings for the monitor to look amazing and everything worked perfectly. Even though this is a VA panel, Samsung has had plenty of practice to get the image quality down to almost perfection. I didn’t find any noticeable ghosting in shooters or fast-moving images, there is a little background glow in extremely dark images/sections of games but that is kind of expected from VA panels. If you’re coming from OLED or Mini-LED do know that your blacks will not be true blacks. Still, again Samsung has had enough practice to get the colors to look amazing regardless of the panel. Productivity: I’m honestly just as excited to use the G9 for Productivity as Gaming, the PBP feature used between my personnel PC and work laptop is going to be a game changer so I can see both devices without having to rotate between desks. It’s amazing and super helpful as I often want my messaging apps (Discord & Whatsapp) and email open on my personnel PC while having my email and Teams open on my work laptop while using the laptop screen to work. The PBP & PIP solves this with just the addition of a cable and switch of settings. Conclusion: If you want the Ultra-wide gaming experience without any compromises, the Samsung 49in Odyssey G9 G91F is the monitor to go with. Samsung is known for its massive, curved monitors and continues to deliver immersive experience with the new G9 while improving over prior monitors with simplified software and improved features like PIP/PBP and HDR 600 & HDR10+. I’ll be adding this monitor to my recommendation for Ultra-Wide monitors and enjoying the immersive gaming experience and added productivity.

This is my first Ultra wide monitor and after using it I have a lot of positive things to say about it and some nitpicks that I wish Samsung would have addressed with this monitor. First off the unboxing of the monitor was pretty straight forward, that being said with this being an Ultra wide monitor, I recommend following the easy step-by-step guide on how to properly install it. The mounting arm is different from most arm in that you have to install it to the base by inserting the arm from the side, instead of inserting straight down and then you twist it into the forward position on the base stand. Once you have the stand installed, while the monitor is still in the box you will want to click in the stand to the monitor and then clip on the circle ring that is provided in the box. This monitor weighs in at 34.4Lbs so you might want some help, but I was able to get it out of the box and on to my desk with no issues. In the box you get a power supply cord and a standard DisplayPort and that's it. The monitor arm allows for tilting up and down slightly and then sliding up and down to adjust the height of this monitor. If for some reason you want to use this monitor vertically you will need to buy a heavy duty monitor arm that can support up to at least 40lbs. The Samsung 49’’ Odyssey offers a Dual VA QHD panel at a resolution of 5120x1440, 144Hz and 1000R curvature. It does take some getting used to at first and I recommend turning up your mouse sensitivity so you can move across the screen to windows quicker. I’m kind of confused as to why Samsung is still making ultrawide with VA panels, when they have multiple ultrawide models that are already using OLED panels. I would have loved to see this model with 165Hz and an OLED panel. The ports on the monitor are 2x HDMI 2.0, 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 1x 3.5mm headphone jack, 2x USB-A ports and 1x USB Type B Upstream. I do wish it had a USB-C 65w charging and Display port for laptops. Where this monitor really stands out is its use for productivity, in that it allows picture and picture where you can have two input devices connected and split the monitor in half. This was perfect for me because I work from home and can have my work laptop open and have part of the screen for work and then on the other half can have my personal PC up (or my PlayStation 5) and work at the same time. There are some limits when doing split screen in that you will not be able to use HDR when it's in PIP mode .You will also need a keyboard that can switch between two computers and two mice, to fully take control of this monitor when using 2 PCs. Keep in mind this monitor does not come with built in speakers, so you will need to have a headset or speakers for sound. When it comes to using it for gaming this monitor is very fun to use. It offers 144Hz 1ms response times with AMD Free sync. That being said I’m a tad disappointed with it being only 144Hz at this price point, where it should be at least 165Hz or even 240Hz. HDR is just ok in that it is HDR 600 and some games can have too much of white balance when it is on, so you will have to do some calibration to get it just right. Though once you are in a game that offers a 32:9 aspect ratio and get to take full advantage of the display, it's almost a cheat code in games like Warzone or Fortnite, where you can just see more of the map, than people playing at 16:9. You will have to go into settings of the games to change the interface, so your icons and mini maps are brought in more, so you're not having to turn your head while playing. That being said, just know not all games offer a 32:9 aspect ratio and you might have to use 16:9, which will then have black bars on the sides when playing games. Same goes for watching videos on this monitor, in that when you go full screen you will end up having black bars on the sides. Pros Immersive 49-inch curved display enhances gaming and productivity. Decent High refresh rate and low response time ensure smooth performance. Adaptive Sync technology and VRR to eliminate screen tearing. Picture-in-picture Cons No built-in speakers VA panel Limited ergonomic adjustments might not suit all setups. No USB-C ports for charging or display Not all games offer 32:9 aspect ratio Overall, the Samsung 49" Odyssey G9 G91F is a good monitor that gets the job done for both gaming and productivity scenarios. Though there are several things I wish Samsung would have added on this monitor with a better panel, faster refresh rate and built in speakers. That being said this monitor does everything it is advertised so you can't go wrong with this monitor, just know there are some caveats and sacrifices you will have to make in going with an ultra wide monitor.

Double-ultrawide displays exist in a niche market segment. Most people would go for a dual-monitor setup sooner than they would pay the premium for a double-ultrawide screen, but the market for these is growing as price and selection expand to meet demand. Samsung has been a constant player in this place, offering some of the earliest 49” double-wide screens and bringing newer, more capable and feature-rich models to market year after year, with pricing to match. Fortunately they didn’t abandon the lower end of the segment, and still offer displays like this G91F to bring high end displays to a more affordable price point. While they had to sacrifice panel technology to bring this screen under the $1,000 mark, the end result is nonetheless impressive and doesn’t take away from the viewing experience much at all. A quick disclaimer: it’s difficult to quantify subjective opinions such as image quality. I make my best attempt to express it in reviews, but ultimately you should sample monitors like this in-person at your nearest Best Buy prior to making a purchasing decision. - Unboxing & Setup Shipping in a box that’s nearly four feet long, you’ll want to take care when handling and moving the box about as it’s surprisingly unwieldy even with grab handles - I had an assistant help me carry it up two flights of stairs. Setting up the Odyssey G91F is a straightforward affair whether you’re using the heavily-weighted stand or a VESA mounting plate. A spring-loaded, twist-lock mechanism attaches the arm to the base, which clips-in to the back of the monitor securely. The included stand is height and tilt-adjustable, but does not offer any rotation options. The power supply is integrated into the monitor so there’s no power brick to account for, though the 3-prong US AC adapter is weirdly inverted so it will stick up from an outlet - an odd choice, but any typical AC power cable (IEC320 C13 compatible) can be used if desired. Samsung includes a DisplayPort cable, an HDMI cable, and a USB 3.0 Type-B device cable (to use the monitor as a hub for the two integrated USB 3.0 ports) with the G91F. DisplayPort is definitely the recommended connection to utilize the monitor’s full capabilities - all but the latest HDMI 2.1b devices and cables will not be able to utilize the monitor’s 144Hz refresh rate at native 5120x1440 resolution as there just isn’t enough data bandwidth on that standard. Plan accordingly. Refreshingly, the G91F is a non-smart monitor that has no Internet connectivity whatsoever. Powering on for the first time you’re greeted with whatever is plugged into HDMI 1, and you’re left to navigate the on-screen display and menus using the control panel under the screen - as is typical for most Samsung monitors without smart functionality. - Image Quality Though “VA” type panels are generally glossed over by gamers looking for high-refresh-rate IPS or OLED screens, the advantages of a VA panel are in its response time and lower cost compared to the other technologies. Though a VA panel won’t get anywhere near the inky blacks of an OLED screen, a quality VA panel will still have good color reproduction and contrast for brighter scenes. My G91F needed a little color calibration out of the box to look its best, but once I dialed in the color and contrast (and turned down the brightness), I was treated to a display that was plenty vibrant and responsive for gaming. This VA panel’s response time is rated as 1ms grey-to-grey, which is usually a misnomer for its true black-to-white response time, but in any case playing games with fast-moving scenes had me struggling to find any noticeable ghosting. Very good stuff! Since 5120x1440 is effectively 88.9% the screen resolution of 4K, it’s safe to assume that most PCs - even those with the latest, highest-end graphics cards - will struggle to maintain 144FPS on this display. Fortunately the display integrates AMD FreeSync Premium Pro (a superset of VESA Adaptive Sync, which is NVidia G-Sync compatible), which will match the refresh rate of the monitor dynamically to what your graphics card or games console can output for smoother gameplay when the framerate falls short of the 144Hz refresh rate. This was quite welcome in most games I played when testing the monitor with a mere NVidia RTX 3060-equipped machine! One major advantage to a curved monitor - especially at this size - is how much it reduces glare. With an aggressive 1000R (1,000mm radius) curve, reflections from light sources behind you are minimized in the display, moreso than the matte screen would do on its own. The only downside to such a steep curve is that it limits your viewing distance to maintain a consistent perspective, but unless you’re using this for a driving simulator (a wonderful experience, might I add) getting a perfect viewing position won’t drastically alter your experience. Mercifully this is one of the best and most uniform VA panels I’ve seen, exhibiting almost no color shift or washout until you’re well beyond what could be considered a comfortable viewing experience. - HDR & Picture-in-Picture With an HDR600 display certification and supporting 10-bit signaling, the G91F can harness the extended color range afforded by a maximum display brightness of just over 600 nits (as reported by my Windows 11 PC). Viewing HDR-enabled content, bright sources look about as enhanced as they do on a midrange large TV, but the difference in detail in shadows and other dark scenes was still limited by the VA panel’s inherent inability to produce very dark blacks. Still, the enhancement was noticeable and improved picture quality on the whole. This being a Dual-Quad-HD display (which is to say, equivalent to two 1440p screens), one of the headline features of this monitor is the ability to view two 16:9 sources simultaneously with either a picture-in-picture or side-by-side mode. This could be especially handy for people with a work-from-home setup who may have both personal and work machines connected, or streamers who have a game console connected and are running their stream chat on what would otherwise be a secondary display. Side-by-side worked flawlessly in my testing and was simple to activate using the on-screen display - just pick the sources and enable. - Bottom Line If you’re shopping ultrawide displays in this size class, your options are somewhat limited and the Samsung G91F is among the more affordable displays. A VA panel may turn off more discerning buyers, but I do implore you to view this screen in person before passing judgment as it’s a great quality panel with none of the shortfalls of cheaper, flat VA panels. You’ll have to make some sacrifices to hit that price point in a curved screen this big, and thankfully Samsung made hardly any here. Perhaps the MSRP could come down slightly to be perfect, but with so few options in this size class you’ll be hard-pressed to find better value. Recommended!

The Samsung 49 inch G91F is perfect for gamers or office work. I played everything from Call of Duty to Half-life to F1 and absolutely love the curved design. Even for office work I love the ability to have multiple documents open and streaming in the middle. There is room for everything you can throw at it. The 49 inch free sync Premium pro LED Monitor boasts 144hz refresh rate and 5120 X 1440 resolution make this a no brainer for those who need a multiuse monitor. The built in menu allows you to tweak multiple settings to your liking. I have a 2 PC setup via a KVM hooked to my system. One is for office work, the other for gaming. As I previously mentioned the uses I noticed right off the bat one of the two PC’s flickered frequently. The issue turn out to be the refresh rate was turned down on one of the PC’s. Once that was upped to 144Hz no more issues. Even when playing COD at full boar. No issues at all, completely seamless. This is was also true for F1. If you are in the market for an all in one gaming, streaming, or work monitor this one is for you. At 34 lbs. and width of 45 inches. (You need to make sure your desk can handle this) and the ability to mount via a standard vesa connection, look no further. The search is over. Get this one. I would recommend this to family and friends.

Firstly I was worried about getting this in one piece because of the shape (curved monitor) but it comes in a massive box and the box was slightly beat up from the carrier. Open it up this monitor is well protected by styrofoam on both sides. Assembly is simple and the stand is very heavy and sturdy making me comfortable with it. Start up is seamless and OMG this screen is huge and beautiful. Most likely you purchase this for gaming and it doesn’t disappoint. Low input lag I’m not sure the spec but during gaming on my PC I usually got frustrated with glitches in my old monitor but this new 49” curved one has absolutely no glitches it’s refresh rate is fast and input lag fast I don’t know the specs but it’s flawless in my opinion. I also used it for work and split the screen into two making it a two for one set up and I absolutely love that. Make sure you have enough room for this thing it’s massive and curves around my entire seating area. Samsung - 49" Odyssey G9 G91F 1000R Curved Dual QHD 144Hz 1ms Summary: Beautiful display, great performance, surprising price point. Use: I'm a casual to middle-road gamer. I play games like World of Warcraft, Doom Eternal, City Skylines, Hogwarts Legacy, and Destiny 2. I don't play competitively. I have also been working from home since 2009. I have many needs for my displays. I've previously owned 2 Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 32" which I absolutely loved. The 4K allowed me to see so much of the worlds I was exploring and allowed me to fit more content when I was working. I've recently downsized desks and while I still have a good amount of space, I have to be a lot more strategic in how I use it. Additionally, my eyes are getting a bit tired now. I was looking for a solution that would give me similar capabilities since the downsize forced me to give up one of my monitors. I also wanted something that would operate at a resolution that my eyes could handle while working or playing games. The specs on this display are great for the price point/size. There are some major differences between this model and my previous model. Clearly the Neo is superior from most operational specs: refresh rate, connectivity, adaptive sync support, HDR and brightness. For a competitive gamer the Neo is unmatched here. However, I needed to also achieve the effect of two displays and still have a reasonably resolution - something that was easier on my eyes. Refresh rate isn't something I can really perceive while playing games unless it drops below 60Hz. The brightness isn't an issue either, because I can control the light in my room during gaming sessions when playing games with a lot of dark scenery (Destiny 2, Hogwarts, etc). The price point I think reflects all these differences. This display is WIIIIDE. I was shocked to see the box, I don't know why - it is a 49" display. Unboxing should be a two person job just to make sure nothing is damaged. I'm quite pleased with this unit. I can use "two display" mode just using Windows 11 Ctrl commands and I can do work just fine. Playing games is even more immersive - though I think now I'll need to upgrade my computer. My trusty Alienware Aurora R9 finally reached the end of it's service life (actually, it's just fine, I just don't want to upgrade the video card) so I'm using my Alienware m17 R5 now. It has a couple years under its belt and operating a single 4K display is fine for work, but fopr games achieving anything higher than 60FPS is a bit tough for medium settings. At 5120x1440 on this display, I can achieve somewhat higher FPS going up as high as 90ish. So I think it is time I look at upgrading my laptop/ desktop or GPU. Pros: * Width. The ultra width is uncompromising. I get the right amount of real estate and can work as if I had two physical displays - except without the physical seam and only one stand. * Resolution. The resolution is perfect - provides the right amount of desktop for me and offers expansive almost panaramic views of my video games that support it. * Controls. Samsung controls are familiar and easy to use. The presets and eye-saver mode really help when working in low light in the evenings. * Build. The unit feels well built. It is hefty, to be sure, but easily assembled. No screws, just some insert and click action. The stand feels weighted and strong. Easily to move/shift/rotate. * Curve. The curve is subtle (1000R). It isn't a half-circle. It is a gentle arc that prevents awkward viewing angles. A slight turn left or right brings what you need into focus. * Seamless. Since I don't need to physical displays, there is no physical seam. No annoying seam that no matter what I do, seems to leave a sliver of my wall visible. LOL. I can truly center an app and flank it, or split it in two using Windows-<up|down|left|right> key combinations. Don't forget, you can also grab a title bar and drag it to the top of the screen for placement presets. * Response Time. 1ms is great. Can't complain! * Price. The G91F is basically a two-for-one display with reasonable gaming specifications. Cons: * Brightness. The brightness on this unit are absolutely adequate. But I don't understand why the spread between my Neo G8 and the G91F is so great at 2000 nits vs 600 nits peak. * Refresh Rate. If you're a competitive gamer, you might be irked by the stats. Neo G8 @ 240Hz vs G91F @ 144Hz. Screen updates for the 144 Hz can take almost up to 3 ms longer than a 240 Hz display. I don't play competitively (i.e. eSports) so this is a non-issue for me.

While I have used double and triple monitor setups before, this is the first ultra wide monitor I have had the pleasure of using. Boasting a maximum resolution of 5120 x 1440 it has a 32:9 aspect ratio. At 49” wide, it provides acres of video real estate. One feature that I really wanted to see in action was the picture-by-picture and picture-in-picture functions. This monitor has one Display Port input and a pair of HDMI ports. I understood that it was able to display multiple sources at the same time so I attached it to my PC with the included Display Port cable and used an HDMI cable that I had to connect it to a new network video recorder that my surveillance cameras will be using. There is a multitude of choices you can make through the monitor’s onscreen menu or by hovering over the resize button on an open window to select sub screen or main screen sizes and locations. Depending on what you’re doing you can either get the full immersive experience running a compatible game in 32:9 or divide the screen in half or thirds and run multiple programs at once. I was able to run a game in the middle of the screen, my surveillance system on the lower right and OBS Studio in the upper right and still have about a third of the screen on the left open to my desktop. I will add a picture or two to this review so you can see the options available. One thing to note is that when your PC going into screensaver mode while idle it inly has the screensaver running on the PC portion of the screen. I switched my surveillance cameras to scroll mode to reduce the chance of screen burn in since they don’t use a screensaver. Another thing to keep in mind is that multiple inputs need multiple control devices. My surveillance cameras need the mouse that controls the network recorder, the PC needs its keyboard and trackball but they don’t operate the cursor on the cameras. That seems obvious now that I see it working but it may not be obvious if you haven’t done it before. I appreciate that this monitor gives me what a multiple monitor setup can do without the picture being broken up by the monitor frames. Speaking of the picture, the QHD quality is excellent, not as sharp as an OLED but still very nice. The screen has a more matte finish not glossy so the light reflection off the screen isn’t bad. With Eye Saver mode turned off the screen is quite bright, in Eye Saver mode you can choose from low or high and reduce the brightness which is welcome in a darker room. The back of the monitor has a 100x100 VESA pattern if you’re going to wall mount this beast or it comes with a sturdy stand that is height adjustable and can tilt and swivel. I appreciate that the base is flat so I can set my keyboard or controller on it. Much more useful than a sloping base in my opinion. Only complaint I really have and I’m not going to ding it a star is that the cable ports point down but there’s a ledge that sticks out below the ports. What I found is that the ledge puts pressure on the cables and it appears that it’s giving me some connection issues, I had to mess with the cables because it was telling me that no source was connected. I’d rather that they notched that ledge to let the cables pass without bending them to fit in there.

The Samsung Odyssey G9 Monitor is boasting an impressive 49 inch monitor, native 4k, and dual screen sharing capabilities, but for all those feats the Odyssey still manages to fall short on a few key aspects. Though the staggering size of the monitor would leave any consumer in amazement it comes with some caveats, particularly when it comes to console gaming. Because of the large size and the fact that the Playstation 5 is only capable of reaching a maximum 1440p resolution whereas the G9 reaches a staggering 2560 x 1440p resolution; games and multimedia content often end up with a cropped and stretched out image making the games feel almost unplayable and streaming content an eyesore. The second caveat is ergonomics. Though bigger can often mean better that is not always the case when it comes to functionality. I found myself having to rotate my head just to take in all the information that was being presented onscreen and though I was still impressed by the image quality, ultimately I found myself preferring a smaller screen for practical use. For someone using this for PC gaming it is still quite a lot of screen requiring you to fully turn your head to take everything in. But the image quality is crystal clear using the full 2560 x 1440p resolution, your eyes will gravitate to the natural center of the screen. I found that on my Sims 4 after you adjust the resolution its crystal clear and uses the entire screen for the most part. The only time it didn’t was when the game was first opened and on the home page and traveling to different places. On planet Zoo I found it to be very clear and smooth just had to remember to check the far sides of the screen for notifications and etc. For normal day to day PC use it is slightly unpractical because for most websites it only uses the center of the screen and the rest is dead space. There are browser settings to use the whole screen but it will either crop the image to fit or it will stretch it out to the point that the image quality is completely distorted. Overall, the Samsung Odyssey G9 is a monitor that has to be seen in order to be believed, and is an exceptional piece of hardware that Samsung can be proud of. Although it is impressive it still lacks key aspects that I find necessary in an office setting. The G9 is a prime example of the current markets fixation of form over function, and even though I am sure it will find it’s foothold with consumers it is not for everybody. The resolution is amazing when using pc games, and general browsing, but the shape of the screen takes some getting used to. If you are using the monitor for pc games, I highly recommend it.

This is a great monitor with a lot of nice features. It has 1 display port and 2 HDMI ports. It has a 144hz refresh rate and has an LED display. The monitor is wall mountable with a VESA style mount. It also comes with a stand to use on a desktop. The monitor comes very well packaged and even has two handles on each end to carry it with another person, though it's more awkward to carry than it is heavy. It weighs approximately 35 pounds. As far as set up went, the only real difficulty was getting the display port to recognize. I tried reinserting it multiple times. I tried a different cable and then finally I went with a reset followed by unplugging it with the power button held. It actually worked when I inserted the cable. I think the issue is that the cable just has to be pushed in fully and completely. Since it is an LED, when the whole screen is dark, like during a transition, dark menu (Doom 64), or almost completely dark areas, it does have noticable glow from the backlight so it's more grey than black. It has more glow around the edges. There is also some of blooming (halos around vibrant colors on dark backgrounds). None of this is really noticable unless you are in those situations. For gaming it does require a good graphics card to push the full 144hz at 5120x1440. I use a 4060ti 8GB and it has trouble pushing the full 144hz in Doom Eternal with raytracing off. Visually it looks great. It's just a beast to run. The one major drawback is just simply support for the aspect ratio. Most older games require mods or third party tools to run higher than 16:9. Or they do weird things while rendering like stretch and unload objects, although more games support it natively these days than in prior years. Fires of Rubicon is a fairly new game and has native support, kind of. It will render the actual game perfectly fine with the hud being in the middle still, but the menus and garage are letterboxed and there is some stretching on the sides which is a support issue. Keep in mind, you're filling your peripheral so it's not as noticable unless you look for it. If you're using a headset, Windows might automatically swap to the monitor for audio, which it doesn't actually have speakers for, so you might need to change your audio device back. While watching videos the black bars while noticable, don't really distract from the content. Neither does the tight curve. All said, it's definitely an interesting experience, it will make smaller 16:9 monitor feel more square than you remember initially. Overall, I think this is a decent monitor. The size and curved shape make it really nice to use.

While the monitor provides big space, it isn't the most pretty or "aesthetic," it runs okay though. I wish the monitor had integrated speakers for the price it is sold for though, because we had to purchase separate small speakers to be able to hear anything.
