Q: What does it say on the control panel?
A: As one who never eats those things, I totally get it! The controls are super simple-- bake, roast (with or without convection), broil, keep warm, and the one I haven't tried yet -- bread proof. That last tells me this range is for serious cooks, and I plan to bake some bread over the holidays to see how it goes. The warming drawer has its own control.
Q: What is the best way to clean the cooktop? Water and a soft cloth?
A: Thanks for the question. Samsung recommends cleaning the stainless steel cook top surface of the NX58F5700WS with warm, soapy water and a soft, damp cloth. A: Yes! I'm still getting used to the convection oven for baking. It browns things like banana bread more quickly than I'm used to. I've had great success with batches of cookies crisping up well. The cook top is fantastic! The simmer burner in the back is so handy in the morning for oatmeal. The double ringed burning in the front is so powerful! Great for saute and stir frying. I really love all four of the main burners. I have not used the middle oval burner because I don't make pancakes or bacon very often. Almost all ranges have a middle grill, so that's what I got. I know many people love it for a quick and easy quesadilla snack for their kids and, of course, brunch. The stove top looks great in the stainless steel, and it is easy to clean up. The rolling rack in the oven, I like, wish I had two. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase, I've had it for a couple months. I cook and bake a lot, every day.
A: This range is not smudgeproof.
A: I spoke directly with Samsung.com via chat. The very helpful rep said the leveling feet on the bottom can raise the range cooktop to 37" in height, that it was designed to clear a countertop. I contacted my cabinet guy and am making sure the cabinets, plus quartz top will be at or below 37". I also let Best Buy know this wonderful news. Thank you Samsung.
