Q: What is the difference between this and The Samsung - 85" Class - Q80T Series - 4K UHD TV - Smart - LED - with HDR. Also the Q900 8K? Are they all in the same line? which is better? Thanks in advance!

A: Pixel resolution is the difference. The 8K TV will is a much higher resolution TV. I have a 55 inch TV, and the higher resolution makes no sense there. In one comparison by impartial viewers on 55 inch TVs they judged the picture resolution of the 4K tv to be higher than the 8K tv when viewed from 8 or 10 feet away. The review moderator then explained that each pixel is surrounded by a small black area, and that degraded the picture on an 8k 55 inch tv. However an 85 inch TV is much larger, and 8K may make sense for a TV of that size. I would check the internet for comparisons between 8K TVs and 4k TVs for TVs in the 85 inch size. Notes: Since resolution is measured in one direction the number of pixels between a 4k TV and 8K tv is more than double. There should be 4 times as many pixels in an 8K TV as there are in a 4K tv since there should be twice as many horizontally and twice as many vertically. You'd have to compare the real horizontal and vertical pixel counts to really tell though. If you had plans of showing 8K movies on your 8K tv I'd check on the availability of 8K movie DVDs, 8K broadcasts, and 8K DVD players. I doubt that there is much available. Samsung will upconvert lower resolution inputs to a higher resolution before display. But the real information isn't there and Samsung is making "guesses" as to what the higher resolution pixels should be. I believe Samsung has gotten very good at this, and the results are very satisfactory, but the process can not be entirely error free.

Q: Does it supports HDMI 2.1 and Dolby Vision?

A: yes, hdmi port 4 is full hdmi 2.1, and port 3 is earc. Samsung still doesnt support dolby vision, however.

Q: Why is it that the spec’s given for the 55” 90T on this Best Buy website, state that it has 4 HDMI ports ( 4th being 2.1) & has HDR 10+, when in actuality, it only has 3 hdmi ports, no 2.1, & no HDR 10+ as stated by Samsung representative?

A: Hi Dean - These are the ports on the back of the TV. There are 4 HDMI connections. Connections • 4 HDMI Connections⁶ • HDMI 2.1 Port 4 • eARC Port 3 • 2 USB Connections • LAN Port • 802.11AC built-in Wi-Fi • Bluetooth® • RS232 Control (Ex-Link) • IP Control Support⁷ • Optical Audio Output Port ^Cris

Q: What is the differences, beside the price, between the Samsung Q80T and the Samsung Q90T?

A: Hi there! The Q80T features Direct Full Array 12X and Quantum HDR 12X. When stepping up to the Q90T, you will gain Direct Full Array 16X and Quantum HDR 16X, which provides you with better brightness, as well as more accurate backlighting and contrast! ^Gina

Q: Need basic TV for Netflix, TV shows (YouTube TV). Not a gamer. I have 55" TCL Roku TV that is shot, not even 3 years old. What is Magnolia? Difference between Q90 and Q80, 70, 60? What is UHD HDR? What is recommended for newest basic? THX

A: Hello INEEDATV, Magnolia is inside of Best Buy, where home theater design experts are ready to help with customized solutions for your unique needs and living space. Benefits for the following models are (Good) Q60T - 100% Color volume, Dual LED. ( Better) Q70T - Quantum Processor 4K, Ambient Mode +, 240 Motion Rate. (Best) Q80T - Direct Full Array,Object Tracking Sound, Ultra Viewing Angle. (Best) Q90T - Direct Full Array 16X, Quantum HDR 16X. (UHD)- Ultra High Definiton ( HDR)- High Dynamic Range. My recommendation for "newest basic TV" for your needs would be either Q60T or Q70T. If you have a very well lit room, the Q80T would be a better solution due to the Ultra Viewing Angle technology in this model. Q: Is this a worthy upgrade over the Q8FN 55' 2018 model

A: Daniel74, our 2020 Q90T gains new features such as Active Voice Amplifier, Adaptive Picture, Ambient Mode+, built-in Voice Assistants (Amazon Alexa, Bixby, Google Assistant), Multi View, Ultra Viewing Angle with Anti Reflective Technology, and our improved Quantum Processor 4K. Q: Can this TV be hung on the wall? I see the stand but no mention if it can be hung.

A: It can be mounted on the wall but NOT the way Best Buy / Samsung shows in their photo. It cannot be mounted close to the wall like those in 2019. The power cord protrudes out the back about 3/4" of an inch. So you are stuck with using a VESA mount and must live with the ugly 1 to 1-1/2" wall gap. Why do they show a fake photo on their web site? The 2019 models looked much better hung since they could be hung like a picture.
