About this product
Brooklyn's own Sha Stimuli stands as one of New York's most gifted lyricists, a wordsmith whose depth and authenticity set him apart in the crowded landscape of Hip-Hop. Originally signed to Virgin Records, Sha was poised for a major debut. However, rather than fall victim to industry politics, he chose to take control of his artistic vision, forging a path on his own terms. Originally released in 2008 on Chambermusik Records, Sha's critically acclaimed debut album My Soul to Keep returns, now digitally remastered to bring out every nuanced bar and beat with enhanced clarity. Widely regarded as a Hip-Hop classic, this project features hard-hitting collaborations with Freeway, Young Chris, and Torae, while production credits boast an all-star lineup, including the legendary Just Blaze, Lord Digga, Chopz, J. Cardim, DJ Victorious, and G-Clef da Mad Komposa. This definitive edition highlights Sha Stimuli's unparalleled lyricism and storytelling, making it a must-have for longtime fans and new listeners alike. My Soul to Keep remains a timeless reflection of Sha's journey, standing tall as a true testament to the power of independence and artistic integrity in Hip-Hop. The 2024 digitally remastered maintains the spirit of the original 2008 while offering a fresh, polished listening experience.

Double 200gm vinyl LP pressing housed in gatefold jacket. To celebrate the 50th anniversary 2LP edition are being released this Autumn. Taking the music to new levels of clarity & power. 'Red' was one of the earliest mixes undertaken by Steven Wilson in 2009 & King Crimson was the first of a number of classic bands & artists to be mixed by Steven so it's entirely appropriate that he return, some 15 years later, to take the album into the Dolby Atmos era. Whilst mixing the album for Dolby Atmos, Steven also prepared new stereo & 5.1 mixes. Those new stereo mixes appear on LP1 of this 2LP set. LP2 consists of a complete album's worth of Elemental Mixes by long-time King Crimson producer (& band manager) David Singleton - using the original multi-track recordings to present a very different audio picture of the album, with greater separation of instruments & utilising many elements recorded for, but not included in, the original mixes. This LP features a unique insight into Bruford's percussion overdubs in place of 'Providence' & an extended intro to 'Starless'As King Crimson biographer Sid Smith puts it in his new notes for the album InchDavid Singleton's elemental mixes pull the veil aside on the original sessions and act as a kind of alternative account, a Red that could have been, revealing the different passes and takes that the band undertook as well as those of Collins, Charig and McDonald as they engaged with the materialInch.
