If you love games with plenty of exploration and discovery. This is perfect adventure title for you. Shadow of the Tomb Taider: Definitive Edition gives you so many costume combinations that are not only functional, but raise in game stats also. This is a plus for all trophy hunters, and completionist alike. Great graphics, polished, lush, and detailed environments are what really stand out throughout your journey. New and old Laura Croft fans will be amazed.

Having played all 3 Tomb Raider games in this trilogy, I'd say this is the 2nd best. It's a by the numbers sequel so you'll quickly adjust if you've played the first 2. The combat is standard 3rd person shooter and stealth/combat optional encounters. It works but it's nothing special. The tombs on theotherhand, especially the DLC tombs, are really intricate and make you think and quickly adapt on the fly. You can adjust the difficulty of either combat, puzzles, and/or exploration separately so you can decide how you want to challenge yourself. This would easily be the best of the 3 games but the rewards for the standard non-DLC tombs is pretty mundane. Since they're optional, I guess they didn't want to give something essential for beating them but the gear you get from them is kinda disappointing. Also, you could breathe indefinitely underwater in the last game after a certain point but not in this one even though this one adds more underwater areas which can be a bit annoying. Other than those 2 things, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a good finishing act to the Lara Croft origins trilogy.

Besides the main story, the definitive edition comes with all the downloadable content. In my opinion, the main story is just ok, but the additional challenge tombs are really interesting and fun to play. Comparing with the first two Tomb Raider games, the game mechanics are similar, but the graphics have a lot of improvement. I'm not really fond of the loading time whenever I use fast travel to revisit some old locations. Even so, my overall experience is great.

People like to hate on this trilogy, but I have no bias since I didn't grow up with the originals (although I do own one of the Tomb Raider games that came out a while ago prior to the reboot). I honestly love all of the games in this trilogy, this one being no exception, and every time I see trailers for it, I get more and more excited!

Just finished this yesterday. Having played all 3 within a short time, I found that they did a great job in expanding and evolving the story and characters. The exploration and story was nice. In a contract to others in the genre like Uncharted, the darker and more serious story tone I think helped. I'd definitely recommend it.

I've played every Tomb Raider game over the years and this is definitely a favorite. Much more like the originals. I appreciate a good story and puzzles much more than constant battle. A fun way to pass the time in the evenings during quarantine.

Although I have to go with the second installment as the highlight of the trilogy...this one was not bad at all. Still enjoyable, action packed, nail biting and tense in spots and slow and stealthy in others. Great visuals, settings, story, character development, etc. Lots of extras to find , but I fear little replay value after completed. Still, a very satisfying ending to Lara Croft's journey to become the Tomb Raider.

While it tends to lean more towards the action side of gameplay, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is still a great game from the series. It is packed with tombs, challenges, and items to craft that you would expect. While it still ends in a cliff hanger, it doesn't leave you on the edge waiting for the next installment. I definitely can't wait to see where they take it next!

I believe it or not my 9 year old daughter loves it. I gotten it for her on her birthday, she has always loved adventure games so I figured why not, The graphics are out of this world, it is the perfect game for a 9 year old girl, especially if you’re one of the parents that want your child to have a different kind of game it’s mostly jumping, crawling, climbing, just obstacles. The game has easy, medium, hard, and expert level. Of course I started her off with the easy and it guide you everywhere she has no problem finding out where to go and which buttons to press. When you walk on certain pathways rocks fall on the side or fall down beside you what gives you the thrill in the chill throughout the whole game.

Terrific follow up to Rise of the Tomb Raider. Compelling story, good controls, and enough motivation for you to want to 100% the bonus tombs and other random tasks.

I played the original "next gen" Tomb Raider on PS3 back in 2013ish? Then re-lived it on PS4 release as well as Rise of the Tomb Raider. Quarantine and social distancing finally gave me the opportunity to game (in lieu of other interests/hobbies), and this game delivers on all the joy of the previous titles. Exploration of the world, finding tombs and solving puzzles, and sniping dudes with bow and arrows continue to provide tons of hours or satisfying entertainment at a much needed time in life.

I love that everything (game, DLCs, tombs) comes loaded on the physical disc and not as a downloadable code. Recommended!

Been into the Tomb Raider series, since the Sega Saturn and PlayStation 1 days. When Square Enix revealed a reboot for the series, I was very interested in what it would be out. Turns out, it was an origin story for Lara Croft, before she was the cool, calm and collected heroine, she's known for in the original games. It's been a fun ride with the reboot trilogy. As each sequel fleshed out her character, to her realizing her true calling as a tomb raider, we know her as today. Can't wait for an modern sequel with classic Lara, in the near future.
