Q: Is this mandatory for installation of the microwave into an island? Where does it sit, Above or under the microwave? Thank you!

A: Hello Jenn5517, this flush mount deflector vent is mandatory if you would like to install the Microwave flushed or in line with your cabinet. This goes below the Microwave, it helps with ventilation.

Q: I'm looking at the Sharp KB6524PSY drawer microwave. I see trim kits and "vent deflectors" for other flush mounted microwaves. Do you sell either of these for this model and are they required? Pictures or diagrams would help if the answers are yes.

A: Hello Jack, we do not manufacture trim kits for drawer units, it is recommended that you hire an installer or a carpenter to create a cabinet to securely fit this unit with the aid of the installation manual. Please be advised that a deflector vent was not made for this model unit as it has its own way of ventilating. Q: Is this flush kit something new? Just got our microwave and did much research and this is the first I’ve seen of this?

A: Hello, the flush mount deflector vent is an optional accessory. It is a thin sheet of metal that is placed at the front of the unit when installation is done and held in by two screws. Q: Total dimensions of microwave drawer sharp 24" hidden control panel

Q: My Sharp MW SMD2470ASY installed in island. Not flush mount. Overlap (measure 'I') should be 22/23". Mine is 1/2". Steam is condensing on lower cabinet. Can I use the steam deflector somehow to stop this problem? My cabinet is getting ruined.

Q: it looks as if when the microwave is mounted flush with the cabinet face the tab for opening the flip down control panel would be obscured and you can no longer reach it to open the panel

A: Hey Bob I just read your question. I have the exact problem. Once the microwave is installed I’m not able to open it. Currently I put a piece of tape on the control panel using it as a tab to pull open. Let me know how you fixed your problem. There must be a solution.

Q: Sharp Flush mount 24" microwave. The microwave is 24" wide - why is the minimum cabinet opening 24 3/16" width? Will there then be a gap between cabinet and microwave?
