The Sigma 35mm f/1.2 DG DN Art Lens for Leica L is engineered for full-frame mirrorless cameras and represents Sigma’s first prime lens design with an f/1.2 maximum aperture. This ultra-fast aperture enables strong subject separation, precise depth control, and dependable performance in low-light conditions, making the lens a versatile choice for portrait, street, documentary, and creative photography. When used on APS-C cameras, it provides a 53mm equivalent focal length suited for everyday shooting and natural perspective. Its optical design incorporates three Special Low Dispersion elements to reduce color fringing and chromatic aberration, along with three aspherical elements, including a double-sided aspherical lens, to control distortion and spherical aberrations. This combination provides high sharpness, consistent rendering, and controlled contrast across the image frame, supporting both still and motion capture applications. Autofocus is driven by a large Hyper Sonic Motor that provides quick, quiet, and accurate focusing, with full-time manual override available by rotating the focus ring. A physical aperture ring provides direct exposure control, and a de-click switch allows smooth, silent aperture adjustments during video recording. The customizable Autofocus-Lock button expands control options by enabling assigned camera functions directly from the lens.
