Get it. You won’t regret it .

Having shot digital photography for 15 years, this is the best lens I’ve ever used for everyday use. Not only is a 35 mm focal length ideal for street photography and around the neighborhood, but this lens is tack sharp and produces beautiful colors. Everything great that has been said about this lens is true. It’s a hall of gamer.

    Best Lens in my bag!

This lens was at the top of my budget but I have been absolutely astonished at the photos! So crisp, depth of field at 1.4 is unreal and the auto focus makes it easy and fun. Two thumbs up from a lifestyle and family photographer!

    The Best

I have quite a few of Nikon's professional lenses and I decided to take a leap of faith and try the Sigma art lenses due to their fantastic reputation and there is a reason all of the reviews out there comparing this lens to the top of line Nikon and Canon equivalents rate the Sigma higher. At F1.4 this lens is scary sharp and the bokeh is something that other lenses dream of having. It's like shooting the equivalent of a Leica or medium format lens in how creamy the backgrounds can get with fantastic subject isolation for a lens this wide. if you are looking for the best there is no other option, especially since it is also significantly less expensive than it's Nikon/Canon rivals and outperforms them on every level. Some reviews would have you worry about Sigma's future and/or current compatibility but I had no issues on my Df or D700 and with their new lens base you can update the lens and tweak it to perfection if you need to. Build quality is superb and on par with modern Nikon pro lenses but behind their older pro lenses like the 85mm f1.4 D. The only other thing I have to add here is that this lens is for full frame and there are better, less expensive options for a crop sensor camera's like the Nikkor 35mm afs f1.8 dx and Sigma's also excellent 30mm F1.4.

Questions & Answers
  • Can you zoom with this lens?

No you cannot zoom with this lens.

    Answered by Anonymous
  • Will this work on D5300

Yes it will work but just be aware it is meant for full frame so you'll be getting closer to a 50mm field of view on your D5300 (which is DX/crop sensor) compared to a 35mm field of view that a full frame camera would get. To be honest, a 35mm on DX is a super versatile field of view.

  • Will this work with a Nikon D3500?

Yes, it should work. However, note that it will crop the sensor as the Sigma Lens is a FX lens and the D3500 is a DX body. So instead of getting a 35mm crop, the image will look more like a 50mm field of view (52.5mm to be exact).

  • Is this a dx or fx? Is this compatible with a Nikon d750?

This lens is an FX and will fit the Nikon D750

  • This mount is compatible with a Nikon D7500? Somebody knows?

Yes, the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 is designed to work on both APS-C / DX and full-frame / FX sensors. I’ve been using it for sometime on both my D750 and D7500, the images are amazing! The price deference between this and the Nikon version was the main reason I went with Sigma. The image quality is practically the same as the Nikon ( In my opinion i think the 35mm sigma does a better job with its focusing ). Hope that helps!
