A: Yes. It is fastened with double back tape or small screws which are supplied. One side fastens to an unmovable part and the other to the sliding part. They have to be within 2 inches when closed. I even have one on my overhead garage door. We have used simplisafe for years and are very pleased with the system.
A: You will need the base station and the key pad for the sensor to work they offer a simple monitoring plan for a monthly fee if you want to use your phone to access the alarm will cost you more , system can be use with out monitoring services but you will not get alerts on your phone and you will have to manually at the keypad turn the system on and off also you will need WiFi.
