A: There is no Bluetooth capabilities on the Home Kit so it will require and RCA or AUX cable connection.
Q: car/home
A: We bought a single XM unit, with the wiring for home installation and additional wiring for our truck, now just switch the unit back & forth. It pops on & off the base easily, but does stay securely attached while you're using it. Settings are retained during transfer.
A: It will work with most sound sysrems for the home as long as they have a line in jack or rca jacks.
Q: Could this work for an outdoor speaker system that is on the porch of a home?
A: if there is an aux cable option no problem thats how i use my unit plus if outside itll help with the signal on the unit. there is speaker unit specifically for xm unit if willing to dish out any extra cash. you can also use an fm transmitter for bluetooth or to connect to use vehicle speakers if parked at home and interested to use car's speakers

A: Only watchout I would have for you would be the fact that you need to be at least somewhere near a window, in order to have the antenna placement outside facing the satellite.
