    My favorite speaker. Period

I have two of them. They pair together so easily. They switch between devices with just pressing the Bluetooth button once. I use them also as computer speakers, but then I could take the speakers anywhere around the house. I could easily connect it to my iPad, there’s been updates and the sound has gotten so great. It feels like the voice is coming in the middle and the band is around you. The immersiveness has gotten even better in the latest updates. The carrying handle is so solid and is easy to carry around, the ribbed metal is very pleasing. Now the sound quality, it is, awesome. Super clear vocals, great instrument separation. And the speakers get really loud and they don’t distort. They are the best speakers, and I hope to have them for a long time.

Great in some areas but not so much in others

I'm torn between a three star or four star rating. The sound is very pleasing for such a small system. It's built like you hope and is a perfect weight for working around the house and yard, however, it has connecting issues at times and is not as emersive for movies as Id like. Sit directly in front of it, even a distance back, and wow, it sounds that good. The biggest reason this goes back to the store for me is the terrible lag it has with several TV viewing tries on different programing such as Youtube, but also on Amazon, and one other. It also had a weird effect on a song where the signers voice was way off in the background and hollow sounding, but the instruments were killer. I wanted so much for this to be my music center for how I live, but it needs updates or something.

    This speaker will surprise you

excellent sound that is room filling. The Spatial Audio gives it a great dimension. And the bass has thumpness - that is totally a word! This would be an excellent choice for any room up, even larger rooms as it can get loud without distortion. I am pleasantly surprised with this speaker that really packs a punch.

We turn it up our way—anywhere. The all-new JBL Boombox 4 is bigger, bolder, and better than ever, with powerful JBL Pro Sound that stays loud and clear, with deep thumping bass. AI Sound Boost analyzes our music in real time and adjusts the sound to give us more power with less distortion, even when we turn it all the way up. It packs two bigger woofers, two tweeters and three passive radiators, so every track hits harder and sounds cleaner. When we want to fine-tune the vibe, we just switch between deep or vibrant punchy Bass Boost settings to match our mood. We gave the classic Boombox design a fresh upgrade—it’s larger but lighter, so we can take it wherever the party goes: the beach, the block, or the backyard. It’s IP68 waterproof and dustproof, so weather’s never a dealbreaker. And, with up to 34 hours of playtime (thanks, Playtime Boost), we’re set for the long haul. With the JBL Boombox 4, we carry the mood and the energy, everywhere we go.
