Stardate The 23rd Century. Retired Starfleet officers James T. Kirk (William Shatner), Montgomery Scott (James Doohan) and Pavel Chekov (Walter Koenig) are guests of honor aboard the newly christened Enterprise-B. a test run takes an unexpected turn, however, when the starship encounters two vessels trapped inside the Nexus, a mysterious energy ribbon. During a perilous rescue attempt, Kirk is swept out into space. Seven decades later, Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the crew of Enterprise-D rescue an El Aurian physicist named Soran (Malcolm McDowell). Unbeknownst to Picard, Soran harbors a deadly plan that includes the destruction of the Enterprise and millions of lives. Now Picard's only hope for a future rests within the Nexus... and a legendary captain from the past.

Good Bridge movie.
Nice bridge between the original Star Trek cast and the Next Generation cast.

Each movie builds on the last, and makes the movies even more enjoyable to watch!

Last Film with a few from the Original -pre Kelvin
It was nice when the original people were there - Kirk, Scotty & Chekov. Sulu's daughter is there for that part. It would have been nice to see more of them & her. There is a cute kitty, but it doesn't have much time in the movie. That is where Data has a good scene. The movie does not make me want to watch that particular Star Trek group. They are not as cool as the original.

Two Captains, one good story.
This was the 7th Star Trek movie to come to the theaters, and was overwhelmongly a hit with Trekkies. Captains Kirk and Picard share the screen in this 'time travel' story to catch a scientist who is prepared to harness enegy from a man-made planet at any cost. Picard and the new crew of the Enterprise have to pull out all the stops to prevent this from happening. William Shatner and Patrick Stewart reprise their roles as Captains of the Starship Enterprise. This was probably the best of the movies made exclusively for the movie theater.
