Q: Is there a limit ? I have 2tb
A: No, the usable drive capacity is not limited.
Q: Will this duplicate IDE hard drives ?
A: It should, although you will need two SATA to IDE HD adapters. The IDE drives will not fit into the dock without those adapters. The part number is SATA2IDEADP. I bought one from Amazon for approx $25. Good luck.
A: I can only answer your 2nd half question. I cloned a 500G boot HD with OS, to a larger 1TB HD boot with the OS with no problems
