The year 2018 saw Xasthur reaping the rewards of frenzied creativity with two albums hitting the street first InchA Misleading RealityInch and then InchOther Worlds of the MindInch. At the time, both albums were originally released under the name NOCTURNAL POISONING, but were later added to the canon of the prime band and redesignated accordingly by the artist. Although the expression had shifted from black metal to a more acid folk-like approach, the spiritual core of the music remained the same. Xasthur meticulously chronicled the experiences of many Americans and folk around the globe that failed to meet the relentlessly rising cost of merely existing. All the elements that made the band unique are still there on InchA Misleading RealityInch the ominous and deranged, the melancholic brooding and the dreamlike, the sinister and the pain. It's high time to lift this overlooked musical treasure from the gutter again and it will be released on vinyl for the first time. Xasthur were conceived by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Scott Conner in California, USA in the year 1995. The project started out in the vein of bleak black metal in the tradition of the Nordic second wave. Over the course of nine albums and a host of split-singles, EPs, and occasional demos, Xasthur's individual, particularly depressive style became highly regarded within the extreme genre. In 2010, Scott announced the end of Xasthur and returned with an acoustic dark folk project under the banner of NOCTURNAL POISONING. In 2015, the American artist returned to the name Xasthur, but insisted that his black metal days were over. Released in 1982, the dystopian BLADE RUNNER was directed by Ridley Scott (THE DUELLISTS, ALIEN) and featured Harrison Ford in his second starring role after RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK. Celebrating it's 30th Anniversary in 2012, BLADE RUNNER has become a cult film favorite the world over. Over the years, multiple edits of the film have been created for the home video, DVD and Blu-ray markets. Similarly Vangelis score has been released in several different incarnations, but none of them are accurate representations of what was heard in the original 1982 film. Largely because of a dispute between Vangelis and Scott over the director's use of his music in the film, a proper soundtrack of the music as it is heard in the film has never been commercially issued (despite the promise of a soundtrack album from Polydor Records given in the film's end titles), described Randall D. Larson in the liner notes of the new BSX recording. BSX Records seeks to correct this oversight, with a new recording faithfully recreating the original music from the film, which proved to be a difficult task. Vangelis score was composed entirely by performing on keyboards and recording it directly, so no written transcriptions exist. Composer Edgar Rothermich was charged with reverse engineering the score listening to the original music and a 1982 album mock-up and transcribing it by ear. He also had to recreate the sound of 1982 synthesizers and decipher if noise heard was due to recording on tape or stylistic choices by the composer. We feel Edgar's made a very close replication of what the score sounded like in the film. BLADE RUNNER MUSIC FROM THE ORIGINAL SCORE has been mastered by James Nelson at Digital Outland and includes exclusive liner notes written by Randall Larson, detailing the process of creating this new recording.

The Snowman was directed by Tomas Alfredson (Let the Right One In, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and stars Michael Fassbender, Rebecca Ferguson, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Val Kilmer and J.K. Simmons. The movie is based on Jo Nesbø's global bestseller and follows an elite crime squad's lead detective who investigates the disappearance of a victim on the first snow of winter and fears an elusive serial killer may be active again. Beltrami's score was recorded at AIR Studios in London.
