Tales of Arise - PlayStation 5

Graphically and performance wise this game runs so well. So glad to see the best tales game in a while.

Fantastic game! The Tales series has been around for a while and there are definitely some ups and down through their ranks but Tales of Arise stands in the top three for me. The battle system is action packed and fast, with a great level of tactics. Depending om the character that you choose to control (out of 4 in a battle) you can take on many differemt roles. If you want to get up close and personal you can pick a melee character, chain combos and block or dodge as needed. Or play the mage or healer characters and use long range attacks and keep the party up with heals or buffs. You can change on the fly in battle to mix things up as well. Also the boss fights are genuinely challenging and fun as well. Definitely will keep you focused and swapping characters as you exploit weak points, heal and dodge. The story is great and well voiced. Great animation and the story deals with some hard hitting ideas that can get a bit dark, which with the overall themes fits perfectly. There is definitely humor, tons of side quests, fishing, cooking and owls to find (you'll see). I cant recommend this game enough. Give it a try!

This game has beautiful visuals and well-designed characters. Th evocal performances are also quite good qhich gives a strong sense of character throughout the story. The battle system is active but has many deep RPG layers. This is a classic and engaging JRPG experience.

"Tales of Arise" is a fantastic action RPG that transports players on an epic journey across a gorgeously rendered world. Everything in the PS5 game is stunning, from the breathtaking scenery to the intricately designed characters. Combat is "Tales of Arise"'s high point. Its fast-paced fighting and exciting action sequences keep players on the edge. Combo attacks and special powers are smoothly integrated, enabling strategic decision-making opportunities. In addition to its intriguing gaming mechanics, "Tales of Arise" boasts an engrossing plot featuring unique characters and poignant events. Players are immersed in a story about resilience, brotherhood, and independence. The game's pacing begins slowly, but picks up as the story unfolds. Although some players may find the game's progression linear, the overall experience is quite pleasant.

The newest entry into the Tales series is simply a joy to play. The moment to moment gameplay is immersive and fun, the visual style beautiful, the story interesting, and the voice acting top notch! I played this on Playstation 5, and overall the performance has been very good. The framerate is consistent and the draw distance works well in exploratory sections. Some NPCs load in slowly but it is rare and never bothered me during my playthrough. Otherwise, the only complaint I've had is that there is no co-op in battles. I've found that taking turns with my partner has been almost as fun anyways though, but definitely worth mentioning. If you're a returning fan of the series, don't sit this one out. If you're a fan of RPGs in general, I think this would also be a great pick.
