TCL - 65" Class QM9K Series 4K UHD HDR QD-Mini LED Smart TV with Google TV (2025)

I recently bought the TCL QM9K as a gift for my husband. This TV is incredible—the brightness is outstanding, it looks very elegant, and the design is excellent. The sound quality is also impressive. This is the third TCL TV we’ve owned at home, and the first high-end model. The HDR performance is spectacular; I don’t think anything could surpass it. Motion handling on YouTube is very good, and Netflix works well too, although occasionally you can notice some minor distractions or glitches in fast-moving scenes. The serious problem is with Disney Plus: it’s practically impossible to watch content there. The image flickers, lags, and the motion is erratic, and no adjustment seems to fix it. This is frustrating because I also own a 2024 55-inch TCL Mini LED model, and I’ve had no complaints with that one. I didn’t expect to encounter this issue on a high-end model. If I had purchased the QM8K instead, I wouldn’t be facing this problem. I truly hope TCL or Disney Plus can resolve this in the future. I don't suggest you don't buy it until they fix that problem and improve the movement process; you can buy the QMK6 L, K7, or QMK8, which doesn't have these problems.

This TV is about as close as i could get to a full OLED panel. The dimming zones are insanely precise and the color is absolutely stunning. This holds up well to 4k 120hz gaming from my PC with Full HDR.

I bought the 65-inch TCL QM9K specifically because my family room is very bright and has a large picture window. Wow, I am happy with this TV. The picture stays bright and clear during the day, and the colors really pop even with a lot of natural light coming into the room. Setup and installation were easy, and the Google TV interface is simple to use and navigate. The Mini-LED picture quality is excellent, blacks look great, and everything from regular TV to sports and movies looks sharp. I also really like the thin bezel even know i didn't need it, and overall design once it is mounted on the wall. If you have a bright room like I do, this TV is definitely worth a look. I have been extremely happy with the 65-inch model and would absolutely recommend it.

This is a bright TV with pretty good local dimming but like all the other TCL qmk series tvs with the gen 1 hva panels they have bad gray screen uniformity that translates to excessive dirty screen effect when gaming. When testing 5%-75% grey screens there was always some type of vertical top to bottom column of darker or lighter pixels every 5%. If you don't game you will probably never noticed this. I know some amount of this is normal but they all had the bright line in the center which was extremely distracting playing games and dark lines in other areas of the screen. I got replacement tvs a few times with the same result and decided to not go with this TV at all. The final TV I was sent had all the same issues + weird crescent Moon shapes on a white background visible in the photo with the hockey guy I posted. Very poor screen uniformity for a top end TV imo. Bonus test if you have a black screen uniformity test pattern on the screen and local dimming turned off the back light bleeds through the bezel edges when viewed at an angle. Strange choice by TCL to let this happen. It's an excessive test and basically not noticeable with local Deming on but the cheaper qm7k I own doesn't do this with similar bezels thickness. I posted the test pattern in the review here if anybody wants to save it and check on their TV just make sure local dimming is off.

Really good TV. Very snappy in regards to menu and app switching capabilities. The Wi-Fi is amazing on it so the connection is quick. I would definitely recommend this TV to friends and family for something that doesn’t break the bank.
