BAD Freezer
What a mistake. I spend over $25,000 on a Thermador kitchen set. This freezer has stopped making ice after 4 weeks. It’s now been 68 days and thermador has sent 4 technician to fix the issue. So far none of them can fix it. They actually don’t care. They are now sending a 5th tech to do a final before they offer me a replacement. Soooo disappointing knowing that my old $1,200 fridge that worked 8+ years was better than this $13,000 fridge. This fridge is for looks ONLY. Do not buy this for any other reason. Unfortunately Best Buy also does not care and says after 30 days you need to deal with manufacturer.

Poorly designed interior
This unit and the matching 36” refrigerator replaced a Sub Zero that we had for 35 years. It took just over 6 months to deliver from the order date. It is significantly smaller internally and much shallower in depth than our Sub Zero freezer was. The shelves on the door are ridiculously small which is a design issue. The ice maker takes up a considerable amount of freezer space and the drawer with the ice container is poorly designed. The ice container is in the middle of the drawer making the rest of the drawer unusable for most other things. It has a very nice feature, like the refrigerator, which helps open and close the door. It is well lite inside. We paired this unit with the 36” refrigerator to match our Sub Zero’s capability. I’ll discuss the refrigerator in a review under the refrigerator. This unit replaced a Sub Zero that we had for 35 years. It took just over 6 months to deliver from the order date. Even though it is the same external size as the Sub Zero, it is smaller internally and much shallower in depth. The door has to be opened all the way before you can pull the drawers out which is a design issue. It has a very nice feature which helps open and close the door. It is well lite inside and has a nice shelf lay-out. We paired this unit with the 18” freezer to match our Sub Zero’s capability. I’ll discuss the freezer in a review under the freezer. We would have been much happier to replace our Sub Zero with another one, but the lead time on it was 9 months compared to 6 months for this unit. We would not recommend this unit to others because of the design issues mentioned. We have our fingers crossed that the unit will last as long as the Sub Zero did.

Happy to havce it
Part of ensemble for 42 inch SxS. More efficient use of space than most small columns. Getting rid of the ice/water dispenser is essential as it would consume half the volume of the unit. Eliminated, with just the interior ice maker, its not that bad. Door shelves are kind of small, but big enough and the interior has more room than previous built ins we've had. A good unit.
