Design and aesthetic great. Ease of use not that efficient. Looks and style are great for all luxury kitchens but for a household with high use, has some design flaws. Since the door opens frontward, the interior area is hard to reach for quick cleaning, especially the top.. if you have splatters, I need a chair or stepping stool to reach in and clean. Also the control panel bring very minimalistic, even for a quick 30 sec modes you need to navigate into the touch screen panel. The door should open upwards.

I think there is only one reason to buy this microwave, because you need (want) it to match your other Thermador appliances. This is not a good microwave. To start it, it takes 5 button pushes and that’s using the 30 second button, if you want to set a specific time there will be at least 3 more buttons required. This is a ridiculous user interface! Cheap microwaves have a one button start and this is not cheap! It also has a startup chime that sounds like something from a sci-fi movie, which is fun at first but can’t be turned off! Also know that if you’re matching other Thermador appliances the screen color is significantly different. Last note, for being such a large microwave, it’s only 950 watts which is pretty weak. I’m frustrated every time I use this thing and hope Thermador will come to their senses and fix the interface, though I’m doubtful they will.

What genius thought it was a good idea to make this microwave so you CANNOT turn off the annoying sounds it makes that drive us crazy! If I could rip it out of the wall myself, I would toss it in the ravine! The microwave works fine but it has a terrible digital interface IMHO.
