Q: How many switches come in the box and can they be install individually with existing 3way switch?
A: I purchased the kit as I thought I would have to replace both switches on either end of the three way and the kit comes with two. I only needed to replace one of the switches and it works fine with Alexa. I have an extra switch now.
A: Theoretically you can use one smart and one traditional 3-way switch in the same 3-way circuit. However, you must ensure the smart 3-way switch is installed on the "Power" side of the circuit for proper operation.

A: 4-way switches are part of three-way switched circuits that have more than two switches. There are 3-way switches at each end of the circuit with 4-ways "in between". Find those with three terminals and you will have found the 3-ways. Replace one of them with the smart switch.
A: Yes! I just set up my switch to turn my smart plug lamps on /off in the Kasa Home app. I'm glad you asked this question, because I didn't realize this was possible. I've been telling Google to turn on my lamps. Now I can use the switch with the ceiling lights.
