About this product
With Inch... by the word... Inch, Trelldom are pushing forward hard into their new musical era that was ushered in by the previous full-length Inch... by the shadows... Inch (2024), which ended a 17-year hiatus of the Norwegian band. Mastermind Kristian Eivind Espedal aka Gaahl and his diligently selected collaborators have gone even beyond the complex yet sinister sound that they established with Inch... by the shadows... Inch. The exponentially grown confidence and hard-gained experience of joining together seemingly quite different musicians is reflected clearly in each track of Inch... by the word... Inch. Trelldom have concluded the process of escaping the narrowest definition of black metal without compromising their artistic mission. Their music does not only stay loyal to the spirit of their black metal roots, but the Norwegians are making a solid point that their new sound is even more dark and fierce than ever before - just in more twisted and unhinged ways. Inch... by the word... Inch is the result of Espedal expanding the immense range of his vocals even further into unexplored territories. And it should be noted that this was partly achieved by his return to the famous Grieghallen Studios in Bergen to work again with legendary producer Eirik Hundvin aka Pytten, who was instrumental in the creation of the 'Norwegian black metal' sound. Trelldom continue in the tradition of all of Espedal's art, which asks to always expect the unexpected. With Inch... by the word... Inch the exploration of avant-garde dissonance, wicked rhythm patterns, and wild ideas again destroys preconceptions and demands intense listening. Better prepare to be challenged by every note!

After 3 years, New Zealand based Alicia Merz breaks her silence with her 5th Birds of Passage album 'The Last Garden'. Alicia doesn't share much with the public, except through her music, and so this album offers a rare glimpse into her secret world. Lose yourself in a universe of minimalist soundscapes, reinvented shoegaze, and the words of a poet who all too well knows the cold loneliness of the dark, but can find the breathless beauty in it also.InchBirds of Passage is humble and heartbroken. Her warm words are crimson berries that bear fruit in the cold depths of winter, hanging over crooked, bare branches where nothing else survives. Her dove-like vocals soar, but her introverted lyrics blossom with the fondness of love.Inch (Fluid Radio)A1. It's Too Late Now 8 462. The Light Became 3 093. The Creed 3 454. Appearing at the end of 2014 as a self-released digital-only title, Dimesland's Psychogenic Atrophy was met with little fanfare, yet made an immediate and powerful impression upon those who heard it. Described by Invisible Oranges as a Inchsonic nightmare of thrash... that blends instrumental ability with the progressive stabs of Dimension Hatross-era Voivod...Inch and landing on numerous end-of-year best-of lists, Psychogenic Atrophy flattened just about everyone who encountered it. With members of art rock legends The Residents' touring band and blackened prog-doom ensemble Wild Hunt among their ranks, Dimesland released the promising Creepmoon EP a couple of years prior on Vendlus, but even that only hinted at how maniacal the band's sound was to become. The eight songs here combine dizzying musical complexity and fearsome dissonance with off-kilter thrash. The confounding and complicated arrangements and demented riffing recall the likes of Watchtower, Coroner and Atheist, but this is darker, weightier, more sinister stuff. The band hurtles through the jagged arrangements of songs like InchInstitutional GearsInch and InchXenolithInch with an almost No Wave-informed abrasiveness, elsewhere sprawling out into well-crafted sequences of abstract, unearthly ambience and forbidding, hallucinatory industrial noisescapes. Violent, discordant riffs are folded around psychotic time signature changes, then suddenly expand into passages of moody, doom-laden darkness. And these guys have some serious chops. But Psychogenic Atrophy is heavily layered, each listen revealing added details and degrees of delirium. Crucial Blast was so blown away by this album that the tag wanted to make it available as a physical , reissuing Psychogenic Atrophy on CD with subtly unnerving cover art from Swiss photographer and performance artist Chantal Michel. Trelldom are the brainchild of Kristian Eivind Espedal, who is better known under his artist's name Gaahl. The Norwegian became one of the leading figures of the Nordic black metal scene after joining the notorious Bergen outfit GORGOROTH in 1998. For many years, the vocalist was pigeonholed for his extreme vocals and attracted many, often dark rumours about his person. If any notion is true about Espedal, it is to always expect the unexpected. Trelldom have already written black metal history. The band founded by Gaahl in Sunnfjord, Vestland in 1992 released their debut album InchTil evighet... Inch (1995) to great acclaim in underground black metal circles. Having changed the line-up to include guitarist Valgard and Stian InchSirInch Karstad on bass, Trelldom unleashed their sophomore full-length InchTil et annet... Inch (1999) to already much attention of mainstream metal media. This album was produced by the legendary sound engineer Pytten at Grieghallen Studios in Bergen. Pytten also recorded the third milestone InchTil minne... Inch (2007), which became highly regarded both by critics and fans. One of the key aspects of Trelldom's first trilogy has always been that in his own band Gaahl was free of the strict limitations under which GORGOROTH operated, and therefore able to explore his voice at will. With Inch... by the shadows... Inch the Norwegian artist breaks free from another mould. Returning after many years of dormancy, in which the musicians involved went on to work with several other projects, there is both continuity and change. The crucial collaboration with Stian Karstad remains at the musical heart of the band. The by far the largest part of all songs on Inch... by the shadows... Inch has been created by Sir, who has also taken over all guitar duties. Yet Espedal has changed other aspects of Trelldom, which created fascinating effects. Now the renow
