I use my dash cam on my 2 week road trip. Pictures look great. And videos do too.

This camera fits perfect behind my rear view mirror so it's not distracting at all. My goal was to have a camera that would record automatically once my vehicle was powered on and this did just that. I found that it also had the option to record motion after the vehicle was parked and off. The problem with this is that the internal battery doesn't last very long at all and so it only stays in parking mode for about 20 to 30 mins. So if your getting this for the parking mode, look at a different model otherwise this camera does great work while driving. I did have a problem with the SD card that came with it. That only worked for a few days then crashed. I took it back to Best buy thinking they could replace the card only but they wanted to replace the whole camera because it came part of the package. I opted to just buy a 64Gb card instead. Speaking of SD cards, each file recorded at 5min intervals creates a 555Mb file on the card so this allows for about 30 mins of recording before it starts to loop over the recordings on file. So I highly suggest getting a bigger card at time of purchase.

This is a great dashcam to aid you in the special case of someone backing up on your vehicle and claim you rammed them from behind. There are a lot of jerks out there so this is a protective measure against this. The 8GB SD is lacking, I had to upgrade to 32 and I don't drive as much. You can always delete/purge footage to free up most of the storage or move the videos to a computer. It's a good camera for the deal of the day price. I won't buy it at full price, no way. The motion/collision/lane departure detection is great however I has to silence it as it was beeping for every single thing, be it changing lanes or driving behind some other car, it was annoying. I think I will be upgrading to a newer more complex model soon. Dash cams will become the norm very soon, newer dash cams should be able to generate a full fledged incident report that includes gps location, images of the area, images and video footage of incident, speed limit from GPS, speed reading from cars involved as well as sound bites. Also you should be able to upload or key in insurance information into the cam's software so an accident report will be generated and transmitted to the police. This way you no longer need to wait for a patrol car unless there are injuries involved. Sadly this type of automation might result in reduced police force size. Be safe everyone.

Got this camera for my wife's car. While the field of vision is somewhat narrow compared to other dash cams, (140 deg. vs 170+deg) is was just ok. But the main problem for her was that the screen for set up was difficult to operate AND when she tried the lane avoidance option it went off all of the time even if not near a line. The size is good, quite small and the optics seem good but just too complicated for a non technical person.

Pros: Quality, Parking Mode, Loop Recording, Wide Angle Lens, Large screen to be able to use if road side and you need to view recent emergency footage, Emergency recording, portable suction windshield mount, very steady. CONS: Battery doesn't last long after unplugged from charger.

Camera and recording is good. Bigscreen is a plus. Lane keeping is not great. It gives false alarms when you are on narrow lane city streets or during the evenings when it is dark. It keeps beeping when the car is stopped.

This camera has exceeded my expectations! It was easy to set up, easy to program, and works as well as any other dash cam that I’ve ever used. The only downside is the cigarette lighter socket is hot all the time, so the camera does not turn off when the ignition is off.

It seemed to be a good camera with pretty nice features, however placement and power are not exactly neat and ergonomic. Because it's dash or windshield mounted, running the wire to the lighter adapter isn't neat or concealed. Seems it was more meant to be a 'run it on batteries priority'. For any car this would probably be an issue. I returned it a couple days later after trying to make it functionally fit and work out.

this camera will video in 1080p (30 frames per second) or at 720 with 60 frames and its the perfect size to fit in front of the rear view mirror without creating a distraction...the only thing I wish it would do is to transfer the audio along with the video to my computer, but according to Uniden, it doesn't do that...but it plays the audio just fine through the camera itself

The suction cup is awful and it falls off my window pretty easily. The accident mode goes off every time I hit a bump even after playing with the sensitivity settings so I just turned it off. Its pretty easy to use

This cam is awesome! And on the DOD you just can't beat the price with or without geek protection. I first purchased the smaller, much smaller, uni-cam here @ BB. I was doing some upgrading in my car and a dash cam in 2016 is a great idea! Given how well the cam worked I thought a second with sound would be even better for the front dash and so I switched the other to a rear cam. It's all working great - just remember the smaller cam needs a usb plug connection at all times in recording mode.

This is a very excellent dash cam. Easy to operate. Small and compact enough to not be a distraction while driving. Makes excellent gift.

Good intro dash cam, has some features that make it really nice, small compact and takes good quality image, not a bad deal

I think this is a very good camera. I gave it 4 stars only because I was told by the associate that it had a 16 gig card in it, but it had an 8. But, the associate apparently did not know much about any of the dash cams I inquired about as he had to call other people on his headset. It cost more than I intended to originally wanted to pay. But, you get what you pay for and I would recommend at least a 32GB card for it or you will run out of space real quick on the 8.

Great camera for beginner. Very good picture. Easy to use and install. Would definitely recommend this product.

Had the camera for 4 days when the SD card went out. took it into a local BestBuy and in order to replace the 8gb card they wanted to replace the whole camera and since I ordered it online I would have to wait several days for it to be replaced. I decided to just but a larger SD card. Note: the 8gb card is only good for about 30 mins of video recording before it cycles through the files. Each 5 min. recording is 555Mb in size.

A few disappointments: The camera did not alert me as the micro SD gets full. Instead, the older videos are over-written with newer vids. After purchasing a larger micro SD, we were unable to format the card for use with the camera. Failed to record audio when the mic was on. This is a neat, compact camera, but functions as an add-on camera versus a primary. The performance of this camera does not justify the price.
