Various Artists - Famous Opera Choruses / Various - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

2020 . Signal Red made it's mark in 2018 with the of Under The Radar. The band is made up of outstanding musicians, principally guitarist Steve Grocott and vocalist Lee Small. The collaboration with Lee is clearly a good match as Lee has already proved his worth with Shy and more recently with Lionheart as well as solo albums, the Phenomena project and rock band Snowfall. Lee is a very soulful, melodic vocalist and his voice suits Signal Red perfectly. The debut caused quite a stir with it's strong melodic rock roots and this album, Alien Nation, is an extension of that robust rock sound that they have already proved themselves worthy of. We have here 11 tracks of sheer quality and Steve's playing shines through on all tracks. One to watch out for!

GIA Publications, Inc. Is pleased to offer Easter in Ireland, our first recording by Steve Warner and The Newman Vocare Ensemble, music ministers at the Notre Dame-Newman Centre for Faith and Reason in Dublin, Ireland. This album offers a taste of the rich fabric of sounds found in Ireland. It is a merging of traditions four-part choral singing; Uilleann pipes, low whistle, harp and harmonium; strings, organ and guitar. All of the selections are directed toward the joy of Easter. The available octavos and downloads include choral anthems, hymns, refrain songs, psalmody and liturgical items for use in any parish. This recording also honors one of the newest and most celebrated saints, St. John Henry Cardinal Newman, who commissioned the building of University Church, home to the Newman Vocare Ensemble and site of this recording.

Fuoco di gioia -at the beginning of Verdi's InchOtelloInch, the compatriots of the victorious protagonist cheer his triumphant return to his home port with a vocal Inchfire of joyInch. The opera quote is also the title of this new album recently recorded by the Bavarian Radio Chorus, together with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester under it's chief conductor Ivan Repušic. The opera chorus from InchOtelloInch begins this selection of famous choruses and instrumental pieces from stage works of Italian belcanto (Verdi), Italian verismo (Leoncavallo, Puccini, Mascagni), Russian opera (Borodin, Glinka, Tchaikovsky), and the romantic operas of Richard Wagner. These very recent recordings from January, February and July 2019 contain well-known and enjoyable melodies that are perfect for singing along to (secretly or otherwise)!
