I bought this dishwasher to replace an 8-yr old Viking dishwasher and match the styling of other Viking appliances in our kitchen. And I am so disappointed! I am angry with myself for buying the dishwasher online without checking it out in the showroom first. Our previous dishwasher cleaned well and I thought the rack layout was good. But in 8 years it must have failed 5 times with electrical and leaking problems. I think the machine was made by Bosch, so I would have expected better quality. So, I bought the top-of-the-line dishwasher and it seems that Viking is really out of touch with customer needs. First, it took an entire day to install. The nicely printed Installation Manual doesn't match the parts delivered. So, the words detailing how to install the kickplate are completely wrong. The new kickplate came with Ikea-like diagrams, but it took a couple of hours test fitting the parts to work out the diagrams. Then at the end, I found a bag of foam that I was supposed to have stuck to the bottom of the dishwasher at the beginning, but I was following the instructions in the Installation Manual which didn't mention this foam! But worst of all, is the new top rack layout. Because Viking now has a full-width cutlery basket, there is less height available for tall items on the top rack. I used to be able to place wine glasses upright on the previous dishwasher, but this dishwasher won't let you do that. You have to lay them at a 45 degree angle and they tend to roll around, as well as consuming more space. This time, though, I bought a 5-yr warranty. After all the expensive failures of the previous dishwasher, I am anticipating this to be my only smart decision.

I am so disappointed with this dishwasher. We have had so many issues with it, from draining, to the control panel working, to the dishes being completely rinsed. Have had to have repair folks out several times already. Not what you would expect from a high end brand like Viking. Our Viking stove we love. This dishwasher, has only been installed 6 months and at this point we are about at the point where we are just going to cut our losses and replace it.
