A: It is Bluetooth. I use it in combination with my Samsung phone. According to the data sheet, it is waterproof up to 5ft, but I have not tested this. It does not store data, it is only a monitor which sends data to a compatible app. It does not have a rechargeable battery, instead it uses a CR2032 coin-style battery. I have not yet replaced the battery (one month of ownership with use every other day) so I am not certain of the lifespan. I've been happy with it as a simple heart rate monitor.
