This brand new 1/72 scale diecast model of the Ilyushin IL-10 Ground Attack Aircraft (USSR 1944) by Warbirds of WWII comes in its original unopened packaging and is an officially licensed product. Made of diecast metal with some plastic parts, the model features a detailed exterior with true-to-scale accuracy, includes a display stand, and does not have any functional openings. Measuring approximately 6 inches in length with a 7.25-inch wingspan, this replica accurately represents the historic IL-10. The Ilyushin Il-10 (NATO reporting name: Beast) was a Soviet ground attack aircraft developed at the end of World War II by the Ilyushin construction bureau and was also license-built in Czechoslovakia by Avia as the Avia B-33. First entering service with training units in October 1944, its initial combat deployment began in January 1945 with the 78th Guards assault aviation regiment, though it saw no action due to unfinished training. Other units, including the 571st, 108th Guards, and 118th Guards assault aviation regiments, participated in the final combat operations in Europe, with some aircraft lost to flak, engine failures, or enemy fighters. By 10 May 1945, the day after Victory Day, the Soviet Air Force had 120 serviceable Il-10s in combat units and 26 disabled ones, marking the Il-10 as a successful and significant design in late World War II aviation history.
