I recently purchased this server. It is an investment but if you need a home server to store files, movies, music, etc., this is a solid option. The unit comes with 4 pre-loaded hard drives and is fairly easy to set up for non-computer savvy people. Once set up, you can easily access your data via your computing devices and/or streaming apps. Additionally, you can access files remotely via its Cloud functionality. It has worked smoothly and I haven't had any issues to date.

Under powered CPU for this NAS type of product. It runs under some kind of Cent OS Linux so something Debian like. It doesn't let you poke around at the OS level. Many 3rd party add on apps like Dropbox or Transmission, so it can run autonomously. No Snapdragon or ARM, just some kind of limited Intel Atom. Well built WD Red drives got the largest maxed out capacity ones but the rest of the product really lacks. Dual 1 Gig Ethernet that can link but doesn't work right. No 10Gb Ethernet. Value wise I've seen better for the price, but this is what BestBuy carries.

Excellent NAS storage, low to no noise; good PLEX server; and good enough to backup all your Apple devices, Macs and Windows 10 Pcs with Acronis TrueImage for free. Very easy to use management interface app also. You can even backup your videos and photos automatically to this device with a WD app.

We upgraded to this cloud storage from our old version. Our experience is that this was easy to install and use. Much more stable and easy to access where ever you are.

Great NAS device. Very easy to configure. Got it running in five minutes. This is the NAS for dummies, folks. Even non IT persons can have their own DLNA server and personal cloud and stop paying Microsoft or Apple for cloud storage.

Not the easiest to setup, but not the hardest thing I've ever setup. The device works perfectly, WD's website and tutorials are a bit confusing and took some time to navigate. I'd estimate it took me 10-12 hrs to setup. Mapping computers to recognize the device was a bit of trial and error, but ended up working out. I would say this is a intermediate device to setup.

If you have a massive amount of data ( such as: music, videos, pictures, etc,) , this NAS will eradicate any concerns about that.
