I purchased this drive a couple of months ago to transfer my data from my old PC laptop to my new one. It was a good decision. WD drives are affordable, reliable, and easy to use. This one was just plug and play and didn’t require any formatting to be compatible with my device. The newer solid state drives might be a little faster in terms of loading your data, but this one hasn’t given me any trouble. And it’s a little more affordable than an SSD.

Doing some spring cleaning and I have several old laptops that I have been holding on to for years. Mainly because they have documents and photos that I might possibly need someday. I made an appointment with the Geek Squad to backup 2 old laptops and my current laptop. I bought this little hard drive because it was on sale and I am extremely happy with the purchase. It got everything. Documents, photos, videos!! So much stuff with lots of space left for more! Also, you can take it anywhere because it fits in the palm of your hand. I highly recommend this compact, powerful hard drive!

I bought this alongside a new laptop and was easily able to use it to transfer everything from my old one to my new one in one sitting. For a while it was stored in my laptop case, where it's so compact and thin that it hardly existed except when I wanted to use it. And since I got my PS5, it's been plugged in there as extended storage for back-compatible PS4 games. PS5 games install to the console SSD and PS4 games automatically install to this instead. It doesn't give that speed boost of an SSD, but it's not supposed to, and I haven't been worried about storage space ever since. I have dozens of games on it and it's not even half full. Highly recommended for PC or console use, as long as you recognize that it's a hard drive, not even remotely a slow one by their standards, and you'd pay at least double this price for this big an SSD.

Great hard drive. Ive had it for about a month now and I have had no issues whatsoever. Definitely compliments the space I needed and wasnt too bad of a price at best buy.

Using Windows 10? Works great! Will it work for TV? You Bet! Will it work for Movies, Music, Files? You bet! IF you have some old movies that you aren't breaking copyright laws with, using WIndows 10, when you get it, plug it into a usb, when it shows up, RIGHT Click on the drive. Scroll to "Format", Should pop up a window look at "File System" if its not already on NTFS (default) then make sure it is on NTFS (leave the allocation size alone) click "Start", it will pop up a warning letting you know you are about to erase everything on the drive, GREAT!!! Do it! (It's brand new, you have nothing to lose) Give it a few seconds, If theres no files on it.. and wah lah! It's formatted for TV :) the write speed? Says online "Up to 60mbs" uhhhh, No! More like a steady 100mbs. Works great! But again, assuming your not breaking copyright laws, if you are using Windows 10, (may work for Windows 11, idk) and want it to work to play on your tv, you have to format it, it's VERY simple to do and.. you'll be able to use it on your tv .

I have used WD HDDs for quite sometime now. Its very reliable and keeps my data safe. Awesome product

I love it! Small & portable and just perfect for what I am doing with it. Plenty of room to back up all your important files. My other backup drives are to full to copy my very large music file that can't be replaced so this Hd is perfect!

Love it. Easy to use, lots of space, small and can eassily fit in a purse to use when traveling to different properties. Would recommend.

Great smaller external storage device if you need more space and you want something small and portable.

WD-My Passport 2TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive is even easy to use for a senior to use. Scanning family photographs the 2TB has lots of room.

Works well for backing up my primary drive on a Windows 10 desktop machine. It’s a small drive but fits within my limited desk space

I have a small collection of hard drives that I use to store raw images and WD makes some of the best ones I have, they're super reliable. I do find that these are a bit more heavy duty than other brands, namely seagate. However, I don't love that it has a USB rather than USB-C, and the device can be pretty loud.

Needed extra storage space for my ps4 pro. Have been using it for about 2 yrs now without any issues. Compatible with the ps4 pro, works great does what it should. Very reliable so far,Great buy and highly recommend it.

This is very nice for storing. It works with my Apple phone directly connected to store my photos and videos and clear space on my phone
