The horn cores are long, tapering bones sheathed in black keratin, a material of exceptional durability even after millennia. The teeth, serrated and recurved, retain traces of gold fused into the enamel, a result of prolonged contact between the treasure-hoard on which he slept and the heat that resided within his breath.
