  • Features
    • Hard Food Disposer: false (This feature has blades to chop and disintegrate hard food particles, making them small enough to easily drain away. This prevents them from being recirculated back onto dishware and allows for easy maintenance.)
    • Drying Method: Heated drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Q: Does this dishwasher include a garbage disposal?

A: I don't believe it does. It has two filters that they recommend rinsing every month or two, but nothing about any sort of grinder or disposal. Since I'm here, a couple of things I've noticed . . . it's a nice machine . . . very quiet. I'm still exploring the various cycles but the dishes come out clean and, especially when you add the extra heated drying, dry. So far, my only complaints are that there doesn't seem to be a "rinse" cycle, something that spends 5-10 minutes spraying down dishes that you might want to leave in the machine 'til it's full. The other complaint, and I've never seen this mentioned anywhere else so it might just be me, is that when the cycle is completely finished, and I go to use a clean dish/utensil, I can still smell a bit of the detergent. On a couple of occasions, I felt I had to rinse off some silverware so that I didn't taste/smell the leftover soap. I noticed it with the "Finish" pods that I used from the start but notice it more with the Costco pods that I'm using 'til they're gone. i'll definitely experiment with different brands to see if that helps. This is subtle and, like I said, I've never seen or heard anyone else mention this is a review. All right . . WAY more information than you asked for but, oh well.

Q: Can you fit tall glass in the dishwasher as they must take the space for the 3rd rack from something? is the 3rd rack removable?

A: The third rack is removable and the middle rack is adjustable. I personally put glasses on the bottom if I am using the third rack. The middle rack also is easily removable. Lots of ways to load this dishwasher. I've been very impressed with its features at it's price point.

Q: Floor to counter is 34.25 inches. Do I have enough room?

A: Hi Renae. The minimum height for this Whirlpool® Dishwasher is 33 1/2 inches.

Q: Is it made in America? If not, where?

A: USPatriot, this Dishwasher is made in the U.S. Hopefully, this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Whirlpool Appliances!

Q: Is the front of this black stainless steel, or just "regular" black?

A: The front is just black not stainless steel.

Q: Does this unit have a heating element to preheat water up to 120 degrees?

A: HEAT, no this does not. The incoming water to the dishwasher must be a minimum of 120 degrees.

Q: can the silverware rack go on the door, the main advantage of Whirlpools?

A: RedLeila, the silverware rack cannot go on the door.

Q: Could someone please tell me: Does this have an indicator LIGHT when done - (LIGHT, not sound!) I want to be able to look at a LIGHT on door to let me know the cycle is complete. My old LG do not have an indicator light - a real design flaw!

A: Hi Kathy, the dishwasher display will have the "CLEAN" option light up when the cycle is complete on the appliance.Hope this helps.Thank you for your inquiry on our Whirlpool appliances.
