Q: How much will this amplify a tv single
A: We live in a valley, in between 350 foot hills. We could not pick up some the local stations, approx. 15 miles away. Now we can pick up all the local stations and get signals from up 90 miles away, with only a short 15 foot antennae. I spoke with someone I know, who knows and sells electronics. He recommended this one for its amplification and price. We have not been disappointed. -K

A: Yes, this unit includes a power inject and USB power source.
Q: Does it matter in which direction I point the outside booster for my antenna.
A: The booster only filter's/amplifies the signal the antenna gathers. So, the booster has no directional need. Aiming the antenna is how you get the best signal strength. Hope this helps.
Q: Is it waterproof can I install it outside ?
A: Yes. It is made to install outside.

A: I just went to Besr Buy Glen Burnie store website and on search bar type in Wineguard preamp and it came up for $44.95 and has to be order. They can have it in three days. It is not in stock. Has to ordered
A: Bernice, Basically the black plastic piece has an input, and an output on it. On mine, I connected a very short section of coaxial wire from my antenna to this plastic piece input section, (labelled antenna.) I then connected the long coax cable to the connection (labelled TV) on the plastic piece. Your long antenna wire then leads into the house, but before it connects to the tv, you connect it to the white piece, which is the actual amplifier. This white amplifier has to have power, so you need to attach either the supplied electrical plug to a wall outlet, or if your tv has USB connections you can give it power just by attaching the supplied usb connector to your tv. There is a schematic picture in one of the Best Buy images which might help to clarify. Good luck, mine worked very well

Definately works!
Very easy installation. Signal strength was definitely improved. Many stations were in the mid 80's are now in the upper 90's. I was hoping to bring in some new channels, but I didn't find that to be the case. I did see, however, much better reception of the channels I already had.

Did not do anything
I cannot say that the product did not function, but I can say that it made no improvement for the picture or signal quality at my cottage.

It's ok
The device works good but you need an antenna really high on your roof. It will boost any regular antenna. The signal will be stronger when the freedom tower is operational.
