Customers enjoy the Cam Outdoor v2 Starter Kit's excellent video quality, long battery life, and ease of use. Positive feedback also highlights the effective night vision and straightforward setup process. The camera's reasonable price point is also frequently praised. Many users appreciate its weather resistance, making it suitable for various locations.
I like this camera for someone that doesn’t want to or can’t run wires to power a camera this is a great option. Only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is because of battery life. The 6 months or so they say is way off. I don’t live on a super busy road and the cars can’t trigger it only people on the sidewalk and even so just the people walking by are enough to kill the batter in under two months in 22 days as you can see from the photo it dropped to 31% in the middle of summer. It was worse during the winter. Video quality is plenty good enough for the money. The yearly subscription ($20) is well worth it. Overall I like this camera and will be buying more but people need to understand if you can’t put it in a hard to reach spot because you will be reaching for it way more than you think.

The Wyze - Cam Outdoor v2 Starter Bundle contains a camera and a mini hub which plugs into your network via an Ethernet cable, unlike other models which connect to your WI-Fi access point directly, and it also contains a micro SD card to backup the micro SD card slot which is on the camera, in case your outdoor camera gets stolen you have a backup copy in the station. Again an odd choice as initially I tried to only install a micro SD card in the hub to save recordings, nope does not work. Pretty fundamental feature for other security camera, to be able to record to a central station. In any case the Outdoor Security Camera is an affordable option for video surveillance, but requires a per camera cloud subscription to get full AI features, as a matter of fact you can’t easily record motion triggered video easily without. I did discover a workaround which involves using the mobile app to schedule a long term continuous recording triggered by motion, this seemed to work – although the AI motion detection and subject framing is not available, in addition the interface for scheduled recordings is a bit clunky, really pushing you towards a cloud subscription. The design is a standard Wyze camera design and is just an update to the last model. The good thing about this model is it has a built in battery which claims to have about a 6 month battery life, which is dependent on how much motion detection it has to do. If you use the camera in a busy area, the battery will likely last substantially less, I got about a week of life on a full charge in a garage which has one car exiting and entering daily as well as some person traffic during the week – so strategically place the camera in an area where it will not pick up a lot of motion. For outdoor use the camera is certified as IP65 Weather resistant. The camera only does 1080p HD video, while the competition is starting to move towards 4K resolution. In any case the clarity of the video is still pretty good and the night vision about the best at this price point. Wyze claims to have “color night vision" which is unique as most night vision (driven by LED infrared lighting) usually is black, white and grey. The Starlight Sensor is what allows color night vision, and it does a decent job, but I still prefer the standard night vision mode, unless you have a decent amount of ambient light to support the color version. Setup of the camera was fairly easy, with voice prompts and indicator lights, the mobile app does a very good job and leverages a QR code for the camera to scan to identify, configure and join the camera to you’re the wireless hub/receiver you attach via Ethernet to your network. As for detection, the motion sensing is decent but I often encountered recordings which started quite a bit after first detecting motion, I played with the settings a bit but never could really get the camera to be as responsive as I would expect in detecting motion. Overall if you are already vested in the Wyze device eco-system the Wyze - Cam Outdoor v2 Starter Bundle is definitely an improvement over earlier versions, is it up to par with some other security camera solutions, depends on your use case. Pros: - Nice design - Fairly clean, artifact free video - Night vision modes, long range from the IR LEDs - Micro SD card slot, for local recordings, time lapse - 8x Digital Zoom - Works with Google assistant, Alex and IFTTT - You can use this camera in offline mode to record motion triggered clips directly to the micro SD card even if not connected at the time to the base station. Cons: - Cloud subscription is really necessary for this Wyze model, although there are workarounds. - Smart AI Detection only available with Cam Plus subscription

The cameras are good … the only problem I have experience , is that station base run out off internet … and I don’t know why …
