'Man's a Wolf to Man' is Andy Taylor's third solo album and his first in 30 years. The record is a demic album, and a cancer album, and a state-of-the-world album, but still a triumph of joyful, uplifting music. Originally intended for in 2020, Andy used the opportunities of the Covid lockdowns to re-examine the album retool it under his own unique circumstances. Then, in 2022 he was given the news that the prostate cancer he had been battling was now terminal and the diagnosis meant he was unable to attend his induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame as a member of Duran Duran. However, this directly led to a reconciliation between Andy and the band and he is optimistic that pioneering targeted nuclear therapy will give him longer than he had originally believed. 2023 finds Andy Taylor on top of the world, with a truly fantastic and career-defining solo album, and bridges rebuilt with his old friends and bandmates. The future looks bright, for as long as it can last, whatever length of time that might be.

2003 5 track major indie tag debut EP. The Brooklyn-based group TV on the Radio mixes post-punk, electronic, and other atmospheric elements in such a creative way that it only makes sense that it's core duo, vocalist Tunde Adebimpe & multi-instrumentalist/producer David Andrew Sitek, are both visual artists as well as musicians. Adebimpe is a graduate of NYU's film school and specializes in stop-motion animation, which his Brothers Quay-like video for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs single InchPinInch demonstrates amply. He is also a painter, as is Sitek, who also produced the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Machine EP and their full-length Fever to Tell. Songs about patience, guidance, realizing full well that you do have a soul, and the hopeful horror of that soul being forced out of your body into something, anything, new. Songs about lost loves reincarnated with everything but the memory of you, beautiful eulogies for a dead century. Not so funny songs for a not so funny world but danceable, hummable, swayable, able. Able. Able. InchTV on the Radio devotes a level of attention to complex vocal layering that is rarely seen in American bands at all, much less ones from hipster Brooklyn... Musician/Producer David Andrew Sitek provides the perfect complement, giving each of Adebimpe's excursions a backdrop of surprisingly organic programming. Inch - CMJ.
