Upgraded to mirrorless. Bought to go with a Canon R6 Mark II. What a change over the EF version and adaptor I had for 6 months. H+ shutter speed did not work properly on the EF, on the RF lens it’s fast. Color, overall tone and sharpness is excellent. Getting used to the telescoping lens design. Wish it was still internal but the lens is easy to carry and use. If you go to a mirrorless camera I highly recommend spending the money on the new RF lens. Works like a dream. Faster. Sharper. And the photos quality is so much better. I shoot several high school sports activities indoors and outdoors. The lens is fast and can lock on to the action quickly. The f2.8 is perfect for all events.

This lens is amazing. I do a lot of Motorsports photography bikes flying by at 100+ multiple bikes harsh light. And the autofocus is lightning fast the pictures incredibly sharp. Low light performance is amazing and I've used it for street photography with more amazing results. I'm not a pro but if you're like me and have 3k to spare it is infact worth it

This len is one of Canon’s best and delivers exceptional image quality, strong background blur, and cinematic compression—perfect for portraits and high-end video work. The f/2.8 aperture gives you that clean, blurred background look, while the autofocus and stabilization make it reliable for both handheld shooting and moving subjects. It’s especially powerful for emotional close-ups and music videos, which fits exactly what you’re doing. The only real downsides are the price and limited use in tight spaces, but since you already have a wide lens, that’s not a problem for you.
