Cords should come with appliances
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once again, I am nonplussed that an appliance does not come with a power cord. My refrigerator came with a power cord. My lamp came with a power cord. My computer came with a power cord. Why not my dishwasher? Unlike the cord for my range, there are not even any options for plug type. They just decided that they could make a few extra bucks and cost me several weeks on my kitchen renovation by making me order this separate power cord. I caved in because the dishwasher is just an expensive cabinet without it. And another thing: It takes 4 weeks to get the power cord once you order it. I guess they are made to order because heaven knows no one would want to manufacture as many cords as dishwashers. Okay, enough ranting. The cord is fine. It fits my dishwasher - just plugs into the back, no tools required or anything. The cord is long enough to reach from the dishwasher to the outlet. What more can I say? Its a cord.

A must if you buy a Bosch Dishwasher
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were suggested by our sales person that we should buy the Bosch brand power cord. At the time, my husband was not sure since we still had the power cord from our old dishwasher. So glad we did because when my husband installed our Bosch dishwasher he said the other power cord would have not worked unless he "spliced" it. Installation with this power cord and the actual dishwasher was very easy for my husband and we didn't have to pay an installation fee of $120.

Exact fit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased a Bosch Dishwasher and it came with the box for hard wired installation but this wire replaces that by simply plugging in the the power jack in the back of the washer and then to a 3 prong (US) 110v outlet. I was not expecting to have to do this as in the past other brand washers already had the 110v wire attached but for the time saving and hopefully high quality dish washing experience, it was $20 well spent!

Bosch power cord kit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this so it would be compatible with our new Bosch dishwasher. Heavy gauge cord with plenty of length for hook up. Considering what we spent on the dishwasher, we didn't want problems with a lesser quality cord. Husband was very pleased with it.

Can't believe you have to buy this
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Believe it or not, you have to buy this for your expensive Bosch dishwasher. I couldn't believe it either. Why it doesn't come with the dishwasher was beyond me.

Q: QuestionI need a longer cord for the Bosch SHP65TL5UC -S/S44 I just purchased. The 47 inch one is not long enough and the store I bouhgt from said Bosch isnt making alonger cord? SO now I have to find a different dishwasher?
Asked by dreylor.
- A:Answer You can attach a standard 6ft appliance cord to the junction box that comes with your bosch Dishwasher that is meant for hard wiring and it works just the same. Do it all the time for customers who dont purchase the accessory cord or for those that wont reach, as in your case.

Q: QuestionHow do I determine if I should use this direct plug in or use the junction box that the dishwasher comes with? This direct plug in makes the installation as easy as it gets. I am capable of doing a hard wire with the junction box but which is better?
Asked by Hcha.
- A:Answer Hi Hcha, thank you for your question. If you already have an outlet for the direct plug than that would be the best way to go. Many use the Power Cord with Junction Box if their former dishwasher was hardwired and there is no direct outlet in place.

Q: QuestionWhich wire is the common? The smooth coating or ribbed coating?
Asked by Abomb.
- A:Answer Look at the 3 prong side of the cord. You will see a slightly larger prong and a slightly smaller prong and the ground in the middle. The slightly smaller prong would be the power or black and the slightly larger prong would be the white or neutral. For the power side prong, if the cord is flat, the wire in the cord will be on the same side of that prong. If cord is round, best to get continuity tester and test each side of cord
