461 Ocean Boulevard [CD]

This was Clapton's comeback and comedown from the craziness of Derek and the Dominoes (if you think about it a real Spinal Tap where many members ended up dead or in prison). Great blues and laidback sounds including Motherless Children and Willie and the Hand Jive...not to mention the cover of I Shot the Sheriff which helped to expose Bob Marley to a greater audience. A must have for true fans.

On 461 Ocean Boulevard which was released circa 1974 Eric Clapton covers several blues and reggae artists including his #1 remake of Bob Marley's "I Shot the Sheriff." Clapton did record several of his compositions. Standouts include "Willie and the Hand Jive," "Motherless Children," and "I'll Go." Album reflects Clapton's recovery from heroin addiction.

A mellow post Heroin phase Clapton.. although you won't hear his trademark "Clapton is God" fretwork, you WILL get solid songs... including "let it Grow', "Motherless Children," and "I Shot the sheriff."

Never been one to buy many albums. But finally had to get this one after all these years. I can't believe I waited this long.

A great display of Clapton from what i consider his best solo release. Re-mastering is well done. Listen to it, i think you will agree!

Many years since owning this title on vinyl and picked up this remastered version on cd and found it to have great sound and good selection of songs.

Excellent Clapton solo album, showcasing several hits from the early 1970's. Solid work. One of the better albums for Clapton fans.

Excellent 70's Clapton! Reminds me of my college years. If you like EC, this album is a must!
