A: Our gas cooking products will come from the factory equipped for natural gas, but they can be converted to be used with liquid propane. The LP conversion kit comes with the unit. If you make this change, adjustments would need to be performed by a qualified technician, and they would need to adhere to both local codes and the installation instructions. We advise keeping the natural gas orifices when the conversion is performed, as there is not usually a natural gas conversion kit available if you ever need to convert back.
A: The overall material finish is the same on the top and bottom of the shelf. It’s a brushed stainless steel. What you may be feeling on the back/underside of the part is minor edge imperfections that occur in the process of manufacturing the holes. A very small amount of material is displaced top to bottom in the cutting process and can be felt as some slight surface roughness around the edges of each individual hole. -Vikki@GEAppliances
