Q: is this a restore or preowned laptop?
A: BestBuy would need to provide a definitive answer, but I'm sure someone else owned it. If they simply returned the laptop it would probably be labeled open box. I'm happy with mine so far.

A: The one I received was 2019 and does have two teeny tiny scratches, but the imperfections are purely cosmetic and do not effect the full function of the laptop.

MacBook Pro Intel Core i5 2019
It's all good with it, mine came with some dents and a deep hit on a corner, but for the price it's all good for daily use like word, YouTube, etc. The only problem with it is that it heats up crazy fast when you use it for a long time or when you have too many tabs open, this even if its disconnected and the fans start going off making some noise.

It was a very good purchase. The MacBook has a couple of scratches, but it’s fine The keyboard, the Touch Bar and the screen work perfectly
