Q: will this work for a 2008 honda civic
A: the 8th gen civic steering wheel controls use a resistor ladder. from what i understand this kit supports that. but alot of stereos take resistor ladders as inputs (it definitely will if the input is a 3.5mm jack) so you might not need it. this kit is more intended for cars that use trickier methods for steering wheel controls, like canbus. cut an aux cord in half, strip the ends, use a multimeter to figure out which wire is the tip and which wire is the sleeve. find the connector in your car that has the light blue wire that turns your amp on. use your favorite wire splicing method to connect the pink wire to the tip and the brown wire to the sleeve. i recommend disconnects to make life easier. plug the jack into your stereo, go into your settings and start binding the buttons to whatever you want. alternatively if you can get your hands on a sony rc-sr1 or something like it use that instead. sony dont sell it in the usa or include it with their stereos for some reason but the cable i made is basically that. or if your stereo takes its resistor ladder inputs from the wire harness, you dont have to make this cable at all. i did this in my 2007 honda civic fg2 to connect to my sony xav ax3250. works perfect. i already bought the kit but imma return it since i didnt use it.
