The lens is incredibly sharp from 24mm all the way to 70mm, even wide open at f/2.8. The colors and contrast are beautiful and the background blur looks very natural. The biggest surprise is how light and compact it is compared to the original version. It feels perfectly balanced on my Sony camera and makes long shoots much easier. The build quality is outstanding and everything about the lens feels premium. Autofocus performance is excellent. It locks on instantly and tracks subjects perfectly, even when shooting fast action. This lens works great for portraits, sports, events, and everyday photography. It’s also fantastic for video. Focus breathing is very well controlled and the aperture ring is great for smooth adjustments while filming. Yes, it’s expensive, but you truly get what you pay for. If you want a professional all-around lens that delivers amazing results in almost any situation, this is it. Highly recommend.
