Will this drain my car battery when the car is shut off?
Answered by RingHi techishmom. Thank you for your question about the Ring Car Alarm. The Ring Car Alarm is designed to use very minimal power from your vehicle's OBD-II port and enters a low-power mode when your car is shut off, so under normal conditions it should not drain your car battery. If your vehicle is left unused for an extended period (typically two weeks or more), you can simply unplug the device from the OBD-II port to eliminate any draw. Driving your vehicle regularly will keep your car battery charged and the Ring Car Alarm functioning as intended.
