Alpine - 45W x 4 Apple® iPod®-Ready CD Deck

I bought this Alpine stereo mainly because I heard it in a Best Buy store and it sounded great. I wanted a stereo to play my Ipod through. Put it in my Hummer to replace the stock radio. I also had Geek Squad install the Ipod connection. I was surprised by the incredible sound through my factory speakers. Ipod connection is perfect, and once you learn the buttons, you'll love this stereo. Looks awesome at night with the red and blue backlighting. Great sound for any price, but especially for this price! Can't go wrong with Alpine, they are the Kings when it comes to car stereos. I think I'll buy another one for my Escalade. My only complaint is the manual which comes on a CD. I like having an actual book I can take with me when I'm near the product. But, 30 pages of printing later, I had one. Overall, a smokin bargain if you are just looking for quality sound for your Ipod without a lot of useless bling.

This Alpine CDE-9874 CD receiver is what I bought for my work vehicle. The stock radio in my Ford E-250 didn't have a CD player, just radio. So it was time I added some options to make work a lot better. Owning an Alpine before made this decision very easy. Right out the box, your getting great Alpine sound quality & a nice price to go with it. This is a very basic model, but has plenty of features to please most. The iPod feature is great! I bought the optional iPod cable so my iPod can be charged while playing. It was well worth it! This is a good CD receiver if your looking for a direct replacement for any basic stock radio. Now work is a lot better & with my iPod music is limitless.

Alpine has been my choice in car decks for the past 8 years. Im glad i still decided to continue that by getting another alpine. This deck has style and class! For the money it has to be one of the best if not THE best deck on the market. It has excellent AQ, convenient Ipod connectivity, great build quality, decent power handling, and a good ole detacheable faceplate for security! I love how i can change the LCD display to the Alpine blue, or the newer red! nice variety. Anyway this is a great choice for anyone who does basic car audio listening functions!

going up to the bestbuy with only $160.00 "mad money" to spend on upgradeing the terrable stock radio that came in my new "used" 2000 ford mustang. Relizeing how compliacated it can be to install new radios in older cars I op. out to go ahead and let them install it. so I was getting lean on spendable income. lets just say I didnt manage to go over my redline amount to throw down of $200.00 and got the good people to ajust the priceing slightly to make it possiable get this radio get the optional Ipod connector and have it all installed with a 1 year warrenty within my range and !! GOD it sounds so much better. love it

I replaced my factory deck with this Alpine and would I would use this deck in every vehicle I own down the road! It is well worth the money for the quality sound you get from it. Installing this item yourself is also easy as long as you have some ideas as to what you are doing. This deck works very well with mono channel amps running subs as well. The interface is pretty basic yet you can go more advanced in controlling your sound! If there was anything to complain about it would be that the manual is on a CD, not on paper so you have to print it out yourself.

I had this player installed by Best Buy's Geek Squad and they did a perfect job. This affordable easy to use Alpine car stereo was the exact purchased I hoped for. And although you cannot control your song selection directly from your ipod, Alpine made it easy to select the song, artist, or album from the player itself. I would recommend this car stereo to anyone looking for an affordable and user friendly ipod ready car stereo.

I bought this deck so I could play music/podcasts from my iPhone (1st generation). The sound quality is fine, but the interface is sub-par. First, the deck hi-jacks the iPhone interface. The thing that makes the iPod so great is the interface. It makes it easy to find the music you're looking for. However, the interface for this deck is not as nice. The controls are not intuitive. I always press the wrong sequence of buttons, even after having the deck for weeks now (and I'm relatively tech-savvy). I hate that you can't listen to an album without selecting a song to start with. When I listen to an album, I want to listen to it from start to finish. If I don't know the name of the first song on the album, I won't know where to start. I listen to a lot of podcasts, which is a big reason why I wanted to be able to play my iPhone through my car stereo. However, this deck makes it hard to find the podcast you want. It does not keep track of unplayed podcasts, and automatically sets them to repeat, instead of playing them once. The interface is so bad, I still can't figure out how to change the time. I could read the user manual and figure it out, but should I have to? Something that simple should be easy. This deck makes simple actions frustrating. I have been a fan of Alpine in the past, but this deck makes me unhappy. I'm thinking of down-grading to my old deck (also an Alpine) and finding another solution that doesn't hi-jack my iPhone interface.

This is a great product at an extremely competative price. When you buy alpine you know that your getting the best in car-audio quality, and this satisfies that idea to every extent. Great deal, Great Product.
