Alpine - 50W x 4 Apple® iPod®/Satellite Radio/HD Radio-Ready In-Dash CD Deck

For starters, I will admit that I got this on sale. I will also admit that I had been wanting this model for almost a year and upgraded to this from my JVC KD-R200. I got the JVC to replace my stock stereo in my Camry because the CD player went out, it's great for $80 but I always wanted something better. I have Sony speakers in my car and they sound great, but the left one is starting to get staticy and is farting a little bit, so I also bought some 6x9 Alpine Type S speakers which I haven't installed yet. First off, I installed the Alpine and without even tweaking the settings, the sound blew me away. After fiddling with the settings and getting them where I would like them at, the sound completely shocked me. My speakers sound even BETTER than before, and now I don't even notice my left one is going out! I'll still replace them, but I'm just saying how much of a difference this deck has made! It has an endless amount of features, looks real slick, and handles perfectly when performing any action on it. One of my friends who doesn't even care for car audio heard it today and said it sounded better, and she really liked the feature with the CD drive behind the faceplate. This deck delivers pounding bass, but while providing nice loud, crisp, clean highs at the same time. I can use my iPod Nano 4th Gen and my iPod Touch 3rd Gen on it via USB, and I'm just scratching the surface. This deck also has countless other features such as potential for an Imprint expansion, Bluetooth, and WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more! Honestly, if my car is sounding this good, I'm afraid to see how it sounds with Imprint! I also noticed that my JVC would distort easily at high volumes and would also get hot, so I tested that on this deck too. I played my music quite loud today (to the point where it was hurting my ears a bit) and not only there was no distortion at all, but the deck wasn't heating up either! I've always known Alpine was good, but I never knew how good until last night when I bought this and installed it. I now love Alpine, and I would recommend this deck to anyone! Even if you have stock speakers, you'll probably be amazed by what this can do!

I purchased this head unit for my husband (drives our Jetta to MN quite frequently). He and I were tired of listening to our iPods using an FM transmitter. I must say the sound quality is EXCELLENT. I was replacing a Pioneer Premiere head unit and it did not sound as good as this Alpine. Now, the iPod interface is a great thing, but it is also a downfall. It is not as "quick" as I hoped and the easy of navigating is poor at best. However, the sound quality I get with the interface far weighs over the lack of response from controlling our iPods.

I recently bought this head unit at best buy. I was upgrading from a sony to this. The improvement in sound quality is like night and day. It has great features and is much louder than my Sony also. My music has never sounded so clear in my car. I have an all Alpine system (Type S 6.5 all around and Type R12's in the trunk). I have to say that alpine makes great products. Until I bought this head unit, I wasn't very satisfied with my upgrade from factory speakers to the Alpines. But it turns out that a majority of the sound quality comes from the head unit. This alpine sounds great at low and high volumes. I don't have my door speakers amplified yet, but I'm sure after I add an Alpine amp to those, it will sound even better. I was not too sure about buying this because of the price (as it's a little bit high to be a high school student), but I just had the cash and went for it. I've never been happier with the way my car sounds. Oh, and my subs hit much cleaner with this head unit compared to the Sony. Go Alpine!

For the price you get a lot, a sleek looking detach face with a great and fast search function,a 2 color display blue and red. The clarity of the music and the power of the internal built amp is excelent (you might want to upgrade your speakers, because your factory wont handle stock and you'll get even beter sound) :). You can plug in you I pod or I phone and controll it with your ///Alpine cda-105, and it gets even better, you get the I pod cable free with it $30 value, Oh no :) Not only that, your I pod or I phone will also be recharging while you listen to your fav tune while plugged in. You can route the I pod cable to a convenient location for the driver or passenger at the time of installation(center console for me please) I love this unit it looks and performs great, this is my sencond alpine cd player and I'm very satisfied with both units! This is a great deal and a great unit definately buy it, I did my research on Sony, ( I am a sony fan btw) Kenwood, Clarion, Pioneer, but went with this one because of previous purchase, options for $$$, crystal clear sound and power! I have 2005 Dodge Ram Pick-up , Quad Cab that had the factory stereo in it. After time the CD player started giving me trouble. Wanted to replace because I listen to more cd's than anything. My wife said that would be one of my Christmas gifts. Went to Best Buy and picked out the Alpine CDA-105. After Christmas I went to have it installed. The guy said he would call when it was ready. Was really scared to see how it was going to sound since I was going to leave the factory speakers in the truck. The guy called about 2 hours later and said it was ready. Couldn't wait to go get my truck but was still nervous at the same time. All I can say now is "WOW"!!! Can't believe how good it sounds. The installation looks really good and the stereo looks really good in my truck. The truck was clean just like it was when I dropped it off. I would recommend this stereo to anyone that want's a really nice stereo but doesn't want to put alot of money in it. Hats off to Best Buy and the guy that installed it! Job well done!! Very satisfied customer!!!

This audio deck is great quality. It installs neatly and plays everything it claims it does. The only complaint that I have is that in using the IPod, it is a little hard to search for songs. Also, along those same lines, the features are great, but take a little while to get used to using. Overall, great system and well worth the money.

This head unit makes even stock speakers sound good. I liked everything except for the ipod controls. It takes to long to find songs, it would be better if you could just use the ipod.

I went with this deck to power my Bose factory speakers and 12 inch Type R. Loved the way it looked but when i had installed was not satisfied. I compared the set up to my past systems and didnt get that clear Alpine sound that i expected. Factory speakers sounded papery and my sub wasnt hitting as clean as i expected. Came to the conclusion that i needed to upgrade my Bose speakers. I decided to try exchanging my deck for the 9886 instead and have never been more happier. The eq on the 9886 is legit and it brightened up the sound quality of the Bose speakers. Sub hit much cleaner and i ended up putting it in a ported box and its basically perfect.i always gone sealed in the past but with all the hip hop i listen to it hits perfect. If you can id go for the 9886 or cde-117. It definatly has to do with better eq features and 4volt pre outs to get more realistic frequencies that make the sound near perfect. If you want the cleanest alpine set up then dont buy this deck and save a little extra for the next ones up. If you want mediocre sound and power then buy the cda-105. The look of the 9886 is a little cleaner in my opinion with the HD biolite, and the remote and ipod cable that come with it is like icing on the cake.
