No regrets..

Quality5 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5So I waited a bit before making a review. After a month of owning this, I can say that I have a love/hate thing going on. I have the Kindle Paperwhite, which I love, but was looking to upgrade since the Oasis has the warm light. Loves: -I love the fact that you can adjust the warm light because I deal with migraines. I’ve been able to read more with this Oasis than I have in a while. -I also love how it has the buttons. It feels nice to hold and doesn’t feel heavy. Hate: -The battery life on this sucks in comparison to my paper white. -The price is pretty hefty, you’d think you can get the option to remove the ads with no additional cost. Overall, I don’t regret getting the Oasis. It’s been nice to read on it. I just have to be mindful to charge it more often.

Everything you can ask for in a reader
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5The Oasis is the top of the line in the Kindle line. It boasts such features adjusting font size, tabs feature to scroll or using buttons, switching the oasis to right to left hand friendly, adjusting background to soft yellow (newspaper version) so as to eliminate total eye strain, and many other more reader friendly devises to apply other Kindle Oasis activiities. The Oasis, dollar for dollar is the best value around for us regular readers. I highly recommend purchasing a cover in order to protect your investment.

A Real Kindle, lives up to the name of Oasis
|Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Really good, better than I expected in many ways. The 7’’ screen is way bigger than the 1st gen 6’’, a greater change than it may sound. Still pretty light-weight, the metal feels good, just don’t forget to get a case if you live in areas that can get cold. Warmness control is not seemingly fancy but yep, it’s amazing. Just think about your iPhone’s True Tone display (should you ever used one), then you understand how this feature counts. The only things I’m not satisfied with are the battery life and the connectivity. Somehow, I feel it can’t last as long as my 1st Gen Oasis, even if the old buddy is now over 24 months. Not saying is bad, but it’s still a retreat. Unless you read all day long, however, I guess up to 2 charges a week is good for 95% of us. And, well, come on Amazon!!! It’s 9102 already (2019 actually :) ), a microusb port is just old-fashioned. You can do that don’t ya? I would pay like $15 more for that. Hopefully you can do that on next gen, and I really think you should. Overall, really good in every aspect, as long as you get some spare money and are willing to invest in reading, this is a must-have. ( Mine is 32G Graphite WiFi. $279 is not cheap, but is worth only if you need. Like the brand-new AirPods Pro, it’s built primarily for the Pro users rather than being a budget choice. Have a think about your need before the decision.)

Worth the extra money to me
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I have had many Kindle and Kindle Paperwhites; actually since they came out. I finally splurged for the Kindle Oasis and am glad that I did. The screen is nicer and I really like the side page buttons (I didn't think that was important, but it really helps). It's a luxury and I'm really enjoying it.

Awesome device!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Battery life, Ease of use, FeaturesCons mentioned:PriceI have been reading on iPads for a long time and I love the True Tone and warm light settings that are on my iPad Pro now for reading, so when I saw the new oasis was going to have this feature, I knew I wanted it but it was hard for me to spend the money for this when I had my $1000.00 iPad. I actually preordered and canceled the new oasis several times (I was afraid Best Buy was going to ban me...lol) before finally settling on purchasing it. Well, let me tell you, I am so glad I did! This new oasis screen is awesome and I feel like I am reading a physical book. There is a huge difference between the paperwhite, which I purchased at amazon on prime day but returned it, and this new oasis in terms of lighting. The warm light setting really is much easier on the eyes for evening/nighttime reading. I am even leaving it on a little through the day. I love ALL the features the oasis offers. It truly does offer a much better reading experience. I am a very avid reader, so I feel like, for me, the cost of this device was well worth it! I have small hands and it is a little more awkward for me to hold, but I am making it work! The light shines evenly across the screen, there is no shadowing, and battery life seems to be good so far. For me, having both the iPad Pro and oasis is beneficial. Any books that has links or color pages is better on the iPad. For example, I love reading my study Bible on my iPad because of the links and the illustrations, so for me, having both devices is well worth the money spent. I know a lot of people are unhappy because it wasn’t a huge upgrade from the oasis 2, but I think it is a major upgrade because the screen is so amazing with the new lighting. I am very happy with my purchase!

Premium Kindle for a Premium Price
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5As an owner of both a Paperwhite and an Oasis, I can say that I love both. The slightly bigger screen, premium metal feel, and color temperature settings may not justify the extra cost to many, but as an avid reader, I knew I’d get many many hours of use out of it.

New Kindle is awesome
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I really love this Kindle. It is considerably smaller than my previous Kindle, so I had reservations, but it has so many good features that override the size consideration. Love the side button page turners. I reconfigured mine. The factory setting was bottom button go-back, top button next-page. Just not natural for me. Very user friendly settings (I did purchase a User Guide). The best part is that in airplane mode, it uses very little battery. And charging is so fast. It charged from 17% to fully charged in less than one hour!

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between a Kindle Oasis and a Kindle Fire?
Asked by Riley123.
- A:Answer The Oasis is strictly an E-Reader,the kindle fire is more of a tablet. You can also listen to audiobooks on oasis It also has access to the kindle store. You can touch the screen or use the buttons on the side to turn the pages however it doesn’t have the page curl function like the kindle fire does. With the fire it does have an apps store for games and such. Look wise I do like the feel of the oasis. It is smaller. My only 2 complains about the oasis is the page curl and the oasis is not in color. I just like being able the see the book covers in color. Hope that helped

Q: QuestionIf the Oasis comes with a 2 yr. Warranty for $60; is it worth it to buy the warranty?
Asked by Uroboy53.
- A:Answer Can't answer that one...extended warranties are nothing but Insurance policies...I bet buying a quality product offsets the cost of the additional protection...like everything else,it pays if a problem airises....otherwise, a waste of money in my book...I 'll take my chances!!

Q: QuestionExactly what is the visual acuity" difference between the "Kindle Oasis E-Reader 7" and the 6"paper white? I've read that the inch makes a significant difference?? Does this inch really make a difference if one enlarges the print anyway? Thank-you.
Asked by CHEY.
- A:Answer Both are 300 ppi devices so there's no increased sharpness of the text if they are set at the same physical size. Think of the extra inch as extra room to fit more text. It's like comparing a 600 sq ft room vs a 700 sq ft room. If you fill both rooms with the same exact sized furniture, there's room left in the 700 sq ft room to add more things.

Q: QuestionWhat’s the difference between Kindle Oasis and Kindle Paperwhite?
Asked by Retired.
- A:Answer Hello Rt52, here are a few of the differences. The Oasis has 25 LEDs vs the Paperwhite having only 5, for better lighting and more adjustments to the brightness and warmth of the light. It also has a sensor to adjust the light automatically depending on the environment. The Oasis will also auto rotate the screen depending on which orientation you are holding it in. Finally, there are physical buttons on the device for page turning. Hope that helps you out.
