Iron Man Simulator that will grow in time
Posted .Pros mentioned:FunCons mentioned:MissionsSo those who have tracked this game since it was advertised know that there was a LOT of buzz for this game before it released. Unfortunately, the release date version of this game fell a bit short of expectations. Still, this game has LOTS of potential and it WILL get better and bigger as time goes on since Bioware (the developer) is dedicated to this game for the forseeable future. Anthem plays a lot like The Division would if you could fly and couldn't use the cover system. The combat is fun in that it makes you feel powerful with all of the rockets, guns, and explosions that you can cause your foes. As the title says, it plays a lot like an Iron Man sim because your character flies around in a weaponized cybersuit called a 'javelin'. They feature 4 different suits at launch and each suit has different 'installed' weaponry that go alongside the handheld weapons. There is a decent list of differing types of handheld weapons to find and use which allows you to choose how you like to do your damage. All in all, as the core of the game, this is fun... for a little while. The problem is that the game (at launch) is a little repetitive in comparison to the variety that similar games (Destiny, The Division) provide. The story is kind of drab and the moments outside of the missions get a LOT of mixed reactions from people who've played it. I like the characters you meet and talk to but the 'story' that binds them is kind of uninteresting to me. There is a lot they should explain but don't and most players aren't going to take the time to read all of the material that does if it isn't interesting to begin with. The intent was for this to be a Tom Clancy's The Division or Destiny competitor. Those of us who played the early versions of both of THOSE games remember that those games had content (mostly endgame) issues just like Anthem does. In each of those games, the developer listened to the community, provided free and paid updates in the coming months after launch, and for the most part improved the game. Destiny did better at that than The Division did but there is hope that Anthem will not fall into that trap. Their issue is there was SO much bad press about the game crashing and messing up PS4's (which they did fix in a March update) that many people asked for their money back. I still have my copy in hopes that between now and September that they will provide a host of new updates that will be new modes, missions, javelins, enemies, and so forth. We'll see though...

Now it’s good!
|Posted .Owned for 6 months when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendI purchased this on day one and loved it. I played the whole campaign and side missions in about two months. After the completion I didn’t pick anthem up until a few weeks ago when Cataclysm came out, the new endgame content. And let me tell you it is amazing! Everything about Anthem now is top notch, I can’t put it down. Now that the game is $20 I think it’s a no brainer to get into the world that is Anthem!

Need improvements, but still a great game!
|Posted .Owned for 11 months when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendI loved playing this game! Yes you need an active PS Plus (or Xbox Live depending on your system) subscription to play. So add that expense in if you don't already have it. This game has gotten a lot of grief on its repetitiveness, but I feel like that is most MMORPG games. EA has recently announced that they are working on completely revamping the game, so we shall see how that goes.

Q: QuestionWhen will the $10 pre order reward be added to my account?
Asked by Mitchhoncho.
- A:Answer The $10 reward for preordering a video game won't show up until the game launches. The disclaimer on the website says the points (500 = 10 bucks) won't show up until 15 or so days after product ships/is picked up in store. The 15 days is pretty accurate. I've preordered several games over the past 2 years.

Q: QuestionWhy dont stores specifically say if its a physical disc or digital copy? Ive tried walmart, target and here and they never are specific. Im sure its prolly physical but would be nice to list it as so. I would get this deal if it was digital!
Asked by Paul.
- A:Answer It actually does tell you. When you are on the page where you must select which game system you are purchasing the game for, right under that is a selection of which copy you want. I hope this helped anyone else who had concerns about this.

Q: QuestionIs the multiplayer online with people far away, or is it with people in the same room watching the same screen with their own controller?
Asked by andipandi.
- A:Answer This is not a split screen game. Parties are up to four players online with PS Plus subscription REQUIRED. One person per system. It will try to match you with the closest people in your country from my experience.

Q: QuestionDo you need to have PlayStation Plus in order to play anthem on the PS4 or do you just need to have a strong internet connection in order to play the game?
Asked by BlackDragon209.
- A:Answer Yes, it is online play only. You MUST have reliable high speed internet AND PS Plus subscription. I might add that you typically get 2-3 free (digital copy)games a month with PS Plus so it's worth it if you like playing different types of games.
