Import media from a digital camera to your iPad® (4th Generation) or iPad mini or iPhone® 5 or 5s with this Apple® MD821ZM/A Lightning-to-USB adapter that supports standard photo and video formats, so you can transfer a variety of media.
Q: Will it transfer Garage Band or music files?
A: If you are actually trying to move whole folders/files, i have not been able to do that. However, if you mean is it compatible with garageband, i use an external USB YETI mic with an iPad and it works FLAWLESSLY! Just connect the external mic to the adapter and the adapter to the iPad and Voila! Hope this Helps!
Q: Can you import photos saved on a USB drive to the IPad with this device?
A: Yes, as long as the flash drive was initially formatted for iOS use. USB drive is a good app to use for file transfer to and from iPad to flash drive.
A: Yes. This is exactly what I used it for. Works in GarageBand and iMovie
A: I have an electronic drum set with MIDI capacity and this adapter works with my iPad Pro 2nd gen. just fine using GarageBand. The hookup you ask about is the exact hookup I do with my drum set. Plug in the USB “A" male into the adapter which now plugs into your iPad, take the other end of your keyboard USB cord and plug it into the USB port. Then using GarageBand or other MIDI software you should be good to go. Hope this helps...
Q: Can you connect an external hard drive to this to download files to/from iPad 5th gen?
A: It depends. Your iPad would have to be running iPad OS 13.1 and the hard drive would have to have it's own power source. You're better off buying the Lightning To USB3 Camera Adapter - Apple Part # MK0W2AM/A.
Q: Can you export media to a memory stick with this?
A: I tried with no success
A: Yes, you can connect lightning port capable devices to USB devices using this adapter.
Q: Is this compatible with the Sony a6000 camera ? Thanks in advance.
A: Yes this is what I use. Works perfect. My guess is it just has to be a photo or video file for it to work
